For over two decades, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has been a global leader in saving lives and strengthening health systems. Through bipartisan leadership, PEPFAR has: ✅ Provided lifesaving treatment to over 20 million people ✅ Prevented millions of babies from being born with HIV ✅ Built resilience in over 50 countries to combat health crises The NAE has long supported the work of PEPFAR, and we believe that both public and private investment in life-saving assistance is required. With its reauthorization deadline approaching in March, now is a good time to urge Congress to support PEPFAR. We have a letter ready to go: https://lght.ly/j50nn3a #PEPFAR #GlobalHealth

On WORLD AIDS DAY, we stand together in unity to acknowledge the ongoing challenges of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, particularly in South Africa, where it continues to impact countless lives. . Today, we are reminded that the health of one is the health of all, and as active citizens, we each play a vital role in supporting the well-being of our communities. It’s not just about fighting the disease; it’s about lifting each other up, showing compassion, and advocating for better healthcare, education, and support systems. . Let’s continue to create a society where no one is left behind, where every individual has the chance to thrive, and where our collective strength is the key to overcoming any challenge. Today we recognize World AIDS Day. There are only 6 years left before the 2030 goal of ending AIDS as a global health threat. The inequalities which perpetuate the AIDS pandemic must be addressed, including reforming laws, policies and practices to tackle the stigma and exclusion faced by people living with HIV and by marginalized populations, so that everyone is shown respect and is welcomed. Support is Available for Survivors of GBV – You Are Not Alone Please remember that you are not alone. There are organizations like She-Hive Association Lesotho that offer support, guidance, and resources to help you heal and regain control of your life. If you feel ready to take the next step, know that seeking help is your choice. If you decide to pursue criminal charges, you can begin by visiting your local police station, where you'll be directed on how to proceed. From there, you'll be guided to the hospital where you can receive critical medical care. This includes emergency contraceptives, post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to prevent HIV, and treatment for any injuries sustained. It’s important to take care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally, and you deserve all the care and protection available to you. Whether you choose to pursue legal action or not, please go to the hospital for the medical support you need including therapy. Your safety and well-being matter. Reach out, take that first step, and know that there are people ready to stand by you every step of the way. #YouAreNotAlone #GBVSupport #TakeTheFirstStep #16daysofactivism

Without a safe place to live, it’s nearly impossible to stay on treatment and maintain health. With our support, Golden Rainbow provides essential short-term emergency and transitional housing for people living with HIV who are at risk of becoming unhoused. By ensuring access to safe, affordable housing, Golden Rainbow aims to help people living with HIV stay on their treatment plans and transition to permanent housing solutions. Every step toward stability is a step toward better health. Learn more about this important work: https://lnkd.in/e63SBABZ #WorldAIDSDay

Every day, the healthcare providers at Centres GHESKIO exemplify resilience and hope. In the face of severe violence and unrest in Haiti, they remain steadfast in their commitment to providing free and high-quality HIV care for over 10,000 patients in and around Port-au-Prince. Our study, recently published in The Lancet Regional Health - Americas, describes some of their extraordinary work, guided by the wisdom of Dr. Bill Pape: "We create hope when there is no hope."
