We are thrilled to announce the reopening of GHESKIO’s Prince Albert II of Monaco primary school for our 15th consecutive year. Despite the severe challenges our country faces, including the closure of 919 schools and the displacement of over 180,000 children due to gang violence, we remain committed to providing quality education and hope. Crisis Update: Haiti’s Humanitarian Challenge – September 13, 2024 Ranked among the world’s most severe crises, Haiti’s situation is dire: over 3,200 killings in just five months, 80% of Port-au-Prince controlled by gangs, and critical infrastructure crumbling—only 24% of hospitals are operational, and 1.5 million children are out of school. Facing rampant malnutrition and severe food insecurity affecting half the population, GHESKIO’s Rapid Response Program is a beacon of hope. Our teams are on the ground daily, providing healthcare, treating diseases, and ensuring clean water and hygiene at 11 IDP camps. We’ve also opened four new health clinics offering extensive medical and psychological support, focusing particularly on the needs of women and children who make up over half the displaced.
