🚗⚡Massachusetts is leading the charge towards a clean energy future. Yet, for lower-income communities, the transition poses significant challenges due to financial barriers and lack of infrastructure.     BlueHub and our partners -- including Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (CSNDC), Enterprise Mobility and Fermata Energy -- are addressing these challenges head-on. Our pilot in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood uses vehicle-to-grid technology to potentially make EV charging affordable, or even free, for residents of affordable housing developments. This initiative both supports clean energy adoption and ensures that it benefits everyone, regardless of their economic status.    If we want to ensure policies can be sustainably and equitably implemented, we need more seats at the table for environmental justice community leaders who can help determine if they will work. 🌿 Exciting Milestones in Our Eco-Funded Project! 🌿 This week marks a significant milestone in one of the largest Eco4-funded projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on. Since August, this project has been close to my heart. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know our tenant personally, celebrating their achievements, and building a strong, trust-based relationship. Our tenant, who is neurodivergent, kindly informed me from the beginning, allowing me to tailor our services to their unique needs. By letting them guide our communication methods, we’ve managed to navigate the necessary visits and experiences required for securing funding with minimal anxiety and disruption. Working closely with the property manager, we've created a safe and inclusive space, ensuring tenants feel supported and heard throughout their eco journey. This has been particularly important as our team of engineers works on extensive home improvements. Despite some funding uncertainties and the challenges of such a large project, I’m thrilled to see the installation now underway. Soon, this tenant will benefit from a fully insulated home, a renewable heating system with a new heat pump, and access to free energy through their new solar panels. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust the tenant has placed in me.
