Mothers deserve support, not marketing lies! Wine bottles labeled "Mommy’s Little Helper." Baby onesies that say "I’m the reason Mommy drinks." Millions of viral videos under hashtags on Social Media glorifying wine as the ultimate parenting survival tool. At first glance, 𝘔𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘺 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 might seem like harmless fun. Just a joke among stressed-out moms. But let’s be clear: it’s not harmless. It’s a dangerous narrative that normalizes alcohol as part of motherhood. Think about it: a psychoactive, addictive neurotoxin is being sold to mothers as “self-care.” That “harmless glass of wine” can quickly become a crutch. And who else suffers? The innocent children. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 "𝗜’𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀" 𝗼𝗿 "𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲"? That they’re a burden. That they’re to blame. That alcohol is needed to cope with them. And who profits from this the most? The wine industry and its marketing teams, who prey on exhausted, vulnerable mothers. And let’s not forget the brands and sellers of tasteless baby and toddler products pushing this harmful narrative. Mothers don’t need wine. They need compassion and support. Completely agree Monika! It's crucial to shift the narrative towards genuine support for mothers. They deserve compassion, not harmful stereotypes. Would love to hear more about your thoughts on this!
Once again, very relevant. Thank you for these thoughts full of common sense.

Excellent post Monika!
I help the world’s most influential strategy, culture, and innovation leaders tell stories and exercise a more “humanized” voice of influence. What is the urgent work where you need to create engagement and belief?
