Why is the energy transition important? How can we better understand the issues facing us? This episode of Chris Nelder ’s Energy Transition Show doesn’t answer all of these questions, but provides some basic insight into the problems we face, and the ramifications of inaction.

PODCAST TIP FOR THE WEEKEND: the latest summary of Net Zero prospects from Michael Liebreich. Based on his earlier blogs for BNEF, he frames the debate (or likelihood of success) in terms of "Five Horsemen of the Transition" facing-off against "Five Superheroes". If you want interesting stats and powerful analysis, in an easily digestable format, this is for you! Its four years since I was first introduced to Net Zero planning and it was clear that enormous challenges faced us - political, financial, and technological. Although Liebreich wont commit to the net outcome of these Horsemen vs Superheroes, notably within a timeframe that can keep global warming below 1.5 degrees, I certainly feel that momentum has swung towards the Superheroes since 2020. #netzero #netzerotransition #sbti #sustainablefinance Formue Sverige Formue Norge Formue Danmark

On this day, Earth Day, 6 years ago on 2018, Rich Bowden and I launched Climactic, a podcast by and for Australia's climate community. That show, from humble beginnings, became a network of over a dozen podcasts from people across the breadth of those taking action on climate. Teachers, businesspeople, psychologists, students, and activists. Today, we're happy that the landscape has changed dramatically. There's no longer a gaping hole where the conversations on climate should be. We have, finally, moved into action mode. And that's why Here Media has just launched Transmission; to bring you into conversations with not just the dreamers, but the doers, in the renewable energy transition. If you're fascinated by, working in, or dreaming about the transition, and what it will mean for us, our societies, and our reshaping of the future away from fossil-fueled doom, this is for you! There's another transmission on the way.
How are we going to get batteries into restaurants and corner stores? David Hauser has a solution.

In our latest episode of the Energy Conversation, we dive deep into "The Just Energy Transition and Local Communities." A just transition should mean more than just a shift in energy sources; it should embody collective bargaining agreements and provide clarity for the people directly impacted. Sadly, none of this is happening, as the people directly impacted are not negotiators at the table. Join the conversation by listening to our latest episode on your favorite platform. What do you think needs to happen to ensure local communities have a voice in the energy transition? Share your thoughts in the comments! #EnergyTransition #JustTransition #LocalCommunities #SustainableFuture #CollectiveBargaining #EnergyConversationsPodcast

We're thrilled to launch the first episode of series two of Talking Transitions, where we delve into how concerns over energy security are shaping broader perspectives on the challenges of decarbonisation. Energy transition is inseparable from energy security. But how do we navigate geopolitical instability and economic uncertainties? This episode unpacks how initiatives like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism could speed up the adoption of clean energy and bolster energy security, whilst striving to minimise international tension and maintain a level playing field for developing nations. Talking Transitions, a collaborative podcast series from FORESIGHT Climate & Energy and EY, examines the shift towards a sustainable economy, not only environmentally but also socially, impacting three critical sectors: energy and resources, financial services, and government. Join FORESIGHT Climate & Energy's Policy Editor, Sam Morgan, and a panel of experts as they explore the intricate issues of energy security in the 21st century: ◾ Andy Brogan, EY-Parthenon Energy Leader ◾ Raphaella Gomes, CEO, New Gaia Strategies ◾ Jeremy (JB) Bentham, Executive Co-Chair for Scenarios, World Energy Council Tune in now to catch these insights on the move: https://lnkd.in/e3DSn46Z

We cannot properly make progress on climate action without capitalism. You're probably thinking, what? Isn't that partly what got us into this mess? Clean energy can be highly profitable and lucrative. If we involve capitalism and its nature, we can propel clean energy efforts. Getting the right forward thinking investors on board to support renewable energy and fund clean tech motivates our teams every day and we're finding those opportunities. #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #CleanEnergyTransition
