On this day, Earth Day, 6 years ago on 2018, Rich Bowden and I launched Climactic, a podcast by and for Australia's climate community. That show, from humble beginnings, became a network of over a dozen podcasts from people across the breadth of those taking action on climate. Teachers, businesspeople, psychologists, students, and activists. Today, we're happy that the landscape has changed dramatically. There's no longer a gaping hole where the conversations on climate should be. We have, finally, moved into action mode. And that's why Here Media has just launched Transmission; to bring you into conversations with not just the dreamers, but the doers, in the renewable energy transition. If you're fascinated by, working in, or dreaming about the transition, and what it will mean for us, our societies, and our reshaping of the future away from fossil-fueled doom, this is for you! There's another transmission on the way.

Gareth Evans joined me on the latest episode of Antenna Group's #AgeofAdoption podcast to discuss VECKTA's end-to-end, onsite energy deployment platform. As with all of my guests, Gareth had to answer one question, and one question only, "What is your Age of Climate Adoption story?" His answer is definitely worth listening to. https://hubs.ly/Q02JycsF0. We cannot properly make progress on climate action without capitalism. You're probably thinking, what? Isn't that partly what got us into this mess? Clean energy can be highly profitable and lucrative. If we involve capitalism and its nature, we can propel clean energy efforts. Getting the right forward thinking investors on board to support renewable energy and fund clean tech motivates our teams every day and we're finding those opportunities. #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #CleanEnergyTransition

This Friday #climateimpact share is guaranteed to make you smile... It's energy week for us Climatebase fellows and it has been intense. Great content and speakers. For those not immersed in the sector, helpful clarity and deeper insights into the challenges and opportunities from generation to demand. My favorite part can be summed up in 3 statements I would have never expected to hear in a renewable energy conversation and am grateful I did: "the good draws to it the good" "from prison to solar" "break bread with people" We had the sincere pleasure of meeting the formidable Robert Blake, Executive Director of Native Sun Community Power Development and who I'm quoting. He is on a mission to make clean energy affordable and accessible on native lands. His approach to competition, shared value, and community-based change is refreshing, inspiring and it works. Bob reminded us that climate impact starts with community impact. When we break bread together, design for human improvement and remain in the company of good people, good things do happen. Great way to end the week 💚 #climateaction #sustainabilityleadership #sustainability #renewableenergy #greenenergy #climatejustice

The latest episode of the Brookings Institute's "Reimagine Rural" podcast focuses on the proposed development of offshore wind energy off Humboldt's coastline. It features a discussion among Humboldt County and Redwood CORE Hub officials, Tribal and Cal Poly Humboldt representatives, as well as HAF+WRCF CEO Bryna Lipper. Listen to the podcast or read the transcript: https://lnkd.in/gs4J3RpC Highlights include: • This offshore wind installation presents a massive opportunity for the state and even the nation to reach net zero emissions, but it’s also important to maximize the benefits for local communities. • In a region with a long history of extraction and exploitation, it’s essential to approach industrial development and address climate change from the local community’s perspective to ensure it occurs equitably. • Developing a platform for community involvement, especially led by groups that have historically been left out of such decisions, is essential to ensure that benefits outweigh negative consequences. • Community benefits agreements enable benefits to be widely shared, but rural communities may need to strengthen their capacity to represent their collective interests well.
