Light Tank Zorawar: I write with leading Army Generals and industry leader on collaborating with DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India & Industry Larsen & Toubro. I call it a key moment towards indigenisation, a significant leap in armoured warfare technology. What are the technologies here and the firepower against the target tank? It got firstly a Cummins 750/1,000 hp engine, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of just under 40 hp/tonne. In performance, 1000hp provides enough power for manoeuvrability in the thinner atmosphere (oxygen-depleted altitude) in Ladakh. Well thought out, the amphibious capabilities, will prove it more in scattered water bodies all across mountain terrains. The light tank now in the final stage, will prove some of the complex demonstration and firepower at high altitude areas. It must also attempt to surpass the Chinese light tank, ZTQ-15 in its objective, showing technical prowess.
