Sweden has made history as the first country in the world to install permanent electrified roads that can charge electric vehicles while they are driving 🚗⚡. This groundbreaking technology involves embedding electric rails into the road surface, allowing EVs equipped with a special connector to recharge their batteries seamlessly on the move. Known as "e-roads," this innovation is part of Sweden's ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045 and revolutionize sustainable transportation 🌍. The electrified road system not only reduces the need for frequent charging stops but also minimizes dependency on large onboard batteries, making EVs more efficient and accessible. Sweden's initiative sets a powerful example for other nations, demonstrating how smart infrastructure can drive the shift toward a greener, more sustainable future 🌱.

🤷♂️ We know that 90% of Parisians backed a move to kick out escooters from the city centre, and those who used them didn't really vote. How could users have been convinced otherwise? It's tricky to show how useful shared travel can be, until it's gone. We're not valuing what's at our fingertips. Yesterday, I posted about which alternatives that can get people to give up their cars. Movability is holding an open workshop on the 30th of May to give input to the Green Party of Norway (MDG) on how to legislate around new mobility. This picture below is from an ad campaign by Kolumbus AS, a PTA in Norway, to show the cost of owning a car. It was admirable in, but many people in their area don’t find transit a convenient enough option to change to it, also with painful car-reducing regulations. How do we make the bitter pill of car-reducing regulations more easy to swallow? We have to tell stories of how easy and attractive choices like car-sharing, carpooling and bike-sharing can improve people's lives. But which stories should we tell and how? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Also, if you want to join the Green Party Norway workshop on new mobility policy we have on the 30th with Ingrid Liland and Lan Marie Nguyen Berg, find a link to the event in the comments!

🌍🔋 Scandinavia: Leading the Charge in Electrification! 🔋🌍 Across Scandinavia, over 50% of new car registrations in January 2024 were electric! 🚗💨 Sweden, in particular, has seen tremendous progress in the EV revolution, becoming a true trailblazer in sustainable transportation. But how did they get there? 🤔 In Sweden, the journey began in 1991 with very specific and, as time has shown, the effective tax. You will find more in today’s Eurotrip episode ;) As a curiosity, in 2016, Sweden became the first country in the world to launch a public electric road! This unique route outside Sandviken and Gävle uses overhead lines to power freight trucks as they drive. Additionally, eRoadArlanda near Stockholm's Arlanda Airport is paving the way for even more innovation, serving as a test track to explore the future of electric roads. ⚡🛣️ Want to dive deeper into Sweden’s electrification story and learn how they achieved such impressive results? Why do I believe independent practices should carry independent products not usually found on the internet or in large retailers? Simply put: because it is impossible for independent businesses to compete with either - on the basis of price or “fashion” brand. To build resilience for the future, discerning independent practitioners must offer unique and delightful: staff, environment and products. These all add up to a unique and powerful client experience whether they’re with you in-practice, or living their lives interacting with the products you prescribe. FLEYE Copenhagen offers wearable premium eyewear with sophistication and refinement in style, materials and well considered details. Today at Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV)'s #MobilityMove conference the first panel consisted of GIRO#HASTUS clients: Stadtwerke München GmbH's CEO Ingo Wortmann, Wiener Linien's CEO Alexandra Reinagl, and Hamburger Hochbahn AG's CTO AG Jens-Günter Lang. They addressed how #publictransportation contributes to zero emissions within the next 10 years, accelerates the economy and provides more equity, meaning access to jobs, educations and healthcare from everyone. Not just in cities, but also in the lower density areas. This is a global challenge. Most importantly we all need to work together to get long term commitment from our governments to allow continuous investments in new technology. In Germany alone the Transit Providers will need EUR 24Billion to migrate to this zero emission operations. #tellthestory of success of publictransportation!
