As fall rolls in, I can’t help but think about how much leadership mirrors this season. Just like trees shed their leaves, we sometimes need to let go—whether it’s old strategies, past challenges, or habits we’ve outgrown. It’s part of making space for new growth. But fall is also about healing. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and recharge. In leadership, this is so important. We all face tough moments, but those are the times that help us become stronger. Letting ourselves heal makes us better leaders, ready to take on what’s next with renewed energy. So here’s to embracing the change, finding strength in the journey, and always growing—just like the seasons.

I'm about to share the most challenging part of leadership. Here's what I know about graceful goodbyes: 1. Face-to-Face Courage - In-person shows respect - Human connection matters - Make the moment count 2. Swift and Decisive Action - Act quickly once decided - Reduces anxiety for all - Helps everyone move forward 3. Empathy in Action - Be mindful and listen - Understand emotional impact - Create space for concerns 4. Radical Transparency - Be honest about reasons - Builds trust even in tough times - Helps with closure and integrity Remember, how you handle departures speaks volumes about your leadership style and company values. Let's talk.

Have you ever noticed how the leadership journey is a bit like riding a roller coaster? One minute you're cruising smoothly, hitting every target with ease, and the next, you're stuck, wondering how to move forward. The secret sauce to riding this roller coaster successfully is all in our heads. Being a leader isn't just about calling the shots or telling people what to do. It's about getting into what the authors of this Harvard Business Review article call the "fundamental state of leadership." This is where you're at your best, pushing past your comfort zone, living out your values, really feeling for others, and always being keen to learn and grow. But, don't you sometimes feel like something's holding you back? Ryan Quinn Bret Crane Travis Thompson and Robert E. Quinn suggest we often hit the same four roadblocks: thinking we're stuck with no choices, no hope, no time, and thinking we don't really need to step up our leadership game. We can get past these hurdles. Here are three tips to help us do just that: 1) get curious and stay open. Why stick to the same old paths when there's so much more out there? Let's ask the tough questions, shake things up, and be open to fresh ideas and changes. Innovation pops up in the most unexpected places when we're open to new possibilities. 2) let's brew some hope and resilience. Feeling defeated? Flip that mindset. Think about your wins, set goals that make you want to learn, pull in your team, and break down those big scary challenges into bits and pieces. Leading with vision and bravery, especially when times get tough, is what makes a leader stand out. 3) make the most of your time by building trust and being efficient. Leading takes time and energy, right? By trusting others more, weeding out what doesn't work, and facing conflicts head-on, we free up our schedule for the stuff that really matters in leadership. Leadership is all about unlocking potential — yours and that of the people you lead. By busting those myths that box us in, stepping into our leadership power, and using these strategies, we're setting ourselves up for some serious wins. Why settle for just okay when amazing is within our grasp? #Leadership #GrowthMindset #BeTheChange #HBRShoutout #HereToLead #Learning

In the journey of leadership and personal growth, the environments we immerse ourselves in matter. "Consciously choosing what and who you surround yourself with is among the keys to finding more space for joy."* This statement holds profound wisdom, especially in the context of organizational culture...and life. As leaders, our responsibility extends beyond strategy and decision-making; it involves curating a culture that breathes growth, collaboration, joy, trust, well-being. The people we choose to bring into our teams, the values we prioritize, and the atmosphere we cultivate—all contribute to the success and collective joy of our organizations, families, communities. This weekend, take a moment to assess the environment you're creating both inside and outside of work. Remember, the cultures we create are the sum of our daily actions and decisions. Wishing you a joyful weekend. #LearnLeadChange #ExecutiveCoaching #Leadership *Thich Nhat Hanh, Buddhist Monk

I ran a Conscious Leadership offsite for a company last week in NYC and we spent the first half of the day noticing. ☀️Conscious Leaders are world class noticers of their mind, bodily sensations and emotions and of those around them. ❤️Conscious Leaders embrace attunement both in words, behavior and body language. They notice the sensations, emotions arising and simply report on what is here now. ✨ Conscious Leaders become world class at noticing their reactivity when in threat and fear and embrace curiosity about how these patterns came about. 💯A significant part of my Conscious Leadership is noticing and welcoming all that arises so that we can know ourselves better and be more equipped to hold space for all that arises in others. We can only meet people to the degree that we can meet ourselves. If you want an efficient, productive and innovative team, don’t skip steps. Noticing with attunment begins the most interesting conversation we can have AND it lays the foundation for skill building and pattern building. 🙏🏼 And, I just have to say bring able to weave quotes and influence from Mary Oliver into my work is just the best. Fully in my zone of genius and feeling supported by all the great minds that have paved the way for a more conscious world. #noticing #consciousleadership

I've fired 20+ people. Here's what I learned. I used to dread the conversation. Now, I see it as a growth opportunity for both parties. So I aim to: - Be direct and compassionate. - Provide constructive feedback. - Offer support for their next steps. Handled right, firing can be a positive turning point. And lead to a better fit for all. How do you handle difficult conversations? (P.S. What's the hardest leadership decision you've made?) ♻️ Repost to help fellow leaders embrace this tough conversation

It’s time to move beyond limiting ourselves and our potential to make others comfortable. As I embark on a new chapter, I've come to understand that our true value doesn't stem from external validation or fitting neatly into predefined roles. It is cultivated from within, a testament to our inner strength and conviction. Through my own journey, I've learned the importance of embracing every facet of who I am, recognizing that downplaying our abilities serves no one. This realization has been liberating, allowing me to fully step into my power and lead with authenticity. I am now extending an invitation for you to join me claiming one of only 3 remaining spaces in a transformative leadership container. This is a space dedicated to those ready to explore their own depths, to celebrate their achievements openly, and to step boldly into their power. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth, unlocking the potential that resides within each of us. If you're prepared to transform your life and lead with purpose, I encourage you to connect. Let's rise in our collective worth and illuminate the world with our presence. #Leadership #Transformation #Empowerment #selfworth
