🌟 Things I wish I knew before working for eCommerce businesses 🌟  1- Build your email marketing list from day one. This will very likely be your most profitable channel. 2- Data is the real king here. Have everything well measured and learn how to analyze data. 3- Paid media channels are powerful but not magic. Platforms like Google Ads and Meta can drive relevant traffic, but if your product doesn’t provide real value, then traffic will increase but sales won’t. 4- A/B testing is your best friend. Experiment with different tactics and creatives to see what resonates most with your audience. 5- Without strong branding, it’s hard to build trust and recognition with your audience. 6- SEO is a long-term investment. If a product is not selling as fast as you would have hoped - it is because of one of these reasons: - You are not priced competitively - You are an FBM offer on a listing dominated by FBA offers - You had false expectations - Let's dig into each individually & 4 You are not priced competitively We need to be priced where the buy box is at to get sales- do not over complicate this. If the buy box has been consistently trending between $20-$25 for the past 3 month with a couple short spikes up to $30.. 90 days, check out the offer count trending, and set your mins and max accordingly. Your price should follow the active buy box within that range and always equal the buy box.. this will maximize your chance of success within that listing. You are an FBM offer on a listing dominated by FBA offers If you want to FBM on a product, you have to make sure that the listing is catering to already- existing FBM offers. This is easy to spot- go into the buy box rotation and take note of what sorts of percentages are going to FBA vs. FBM offers. If there are no FBM offers in the denote a FBA offer.. no check mark is FBM. The more non-checked offers and the more percentage going to FBM offers.. the more likely you will have success with a competing FBM offer. You had false expectations This mainly comes from misunderstanding velocity off the bat- usually stemming from two skewing factors: 1. a dominant seller 2. a dominant variation Let's dig in a bit more: 1. Dominant seller. This is the first thing that can skew any estimations we have made when it comes to velocity. If a product sells 1,000 times and there are 6 competitive sellers- that could be pretty interesting. BUT-if one of those sellers has 2. Dominant variation. Similiar story here as it was with the one buy box holder. If a listing sells 1,000 times and there are 2 flavors inside the listing.
