Mark Zuckerberg redefined success for men: From library nerd to eligible bachelor. It's time for us women to redefine our success: By showing up as the women we secretly wished we could be growing up. → Not downplaying our smarts. → Not dimming our ambition. But also... → Not giving up on love and romance. → Not filling our days with busy work. We owe it to ourselves. We also owe it to the next generation of women. The ones looking for permission to be: ✨ Introverted AND charismatic. ✨ Smart AND playful. ✨Ambitious AND collaborative. As Steve Jobs said: "Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use." Women have been integral to tech's evolution. Yet, their contributions often go unrecognized. Women are making waves in tech, founding startups and leading major companies. But - women remain significantly underrepresented, especially in leadership and technical roles in this notorious "bro culture". Diversity in tech leads to better products and solutions. When tech teams are diverse, they're more likely to create products that serve a broader range of users and solve a wider array of problems. The future of tech is being written now, and women are determined to be co-authors. Women are claiming their place as innovators, leaders, and visionaries. Where are all my WOMEN IN TECH??? In honor of Women's History Month I thought as a women who has worked in Tech for 25 years I would post about the Mindset it takes to be successful in a male dominated field. 🎯 73% of women in tech roles feel like outsiders in their workplaces, despite tech jobs being on a steady rise. That's a shocking stat, isn't it? We're talking about women in male-dominated fields here. The tech industry, engineering, finance and more. These are places where we, as women, often feel like we're fighting an uphill battle. Like we are climbing Mount Everest in high heels. But guess what? It doesn't have to be that way. Here's why 👇 1️⃣ Embrace your uniqueness: You're not just a woman in tech, you're an engineer, a developer, a product manager. Your perspective is unique and valuable. Making the Invisible more Visible! Women in Tech- the Hidden Gems. Let me explain. I felt this deeply over the weekend in Zürich. I was a Jury member for the Hidden Figure award in Tech. We celebrated extraordinary women in STEM who excel in their fields. Being with more than 100 enthusiastic and amazing women, we shared knowledge and experiences. We discussed how to boost visibility and career opportunities. For me, it’s not just about bringing more women into tech. It's also about ensuring those already in the field are seen and recognised. Why We Need More Women in Tech: → Improved company performance → Addressing talent shortages → Better products and market reach → Economic growth increase by 3-6% Current Challenges: -Only 28% of tech workforce and 14% of leadership roles -50% of women leave tech careers by age 35 -Greater underrepresentation for women of color Solutions: → Address biases, create advancement pathways → Foster inclusive cultures, provide mentorship → Encourage STEM education and up-and re-skilling opportunities Increasing diversity in tech isn't just about fairness—it's a business imperative for better outcomes across the board. Everyone knows who Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg are—they need no introduction. But how many women in IT 💁♀️ come to mind? It’s a topic that deserves more attention. 👀 I have so much admiration for successful women in these industries. It feels like, to be a woman who truly moves the world and leads, you have to put in a lot of hard work. 🫣 I was reading about the Women in IT Awards winners today, and a few really stood out to me.
