Like many as we finish the year its a time to reflect on what you’ve acheived, what you planned to do - but didnt. What you wish you had done and glad you didn’t. Or what you hadn’t planned to do but did do it - and Loved it!!! I think of the people who have touched my heart this year, those who I’ve had the privilege to have met and did some amazing things with in my world and of course, there are those who left us in this world and feel deeply that grief. As I reflect on 2024 and if I could use one word to describe it, it would be the word “gratitude”. Did some amazing things, met some amazing people, went to amazing places and acheived some amazing objectives. And I delivered a promise to my 13 year old self. This year began with the truly powerful hui at Turangawaewae “Tākiri Tu Te Mana Māori Motuhake, Tākiri Tu Te Kotahitanga”. We lost our King, Kingi Tuheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero Te Tuawhitu, and we mourned for him deeply. But the year ended as he would have hoped with the embodiment of kotahitanga where I witnessed it at mahi at ANZ and also with my iwi of Tai Tokerau, of Muriwhenua with the powhiri of Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po and the hikoi o te motu. 2024 A Year of Gratitude……
