Embracing the culture and camaraderie in Saudi Arabia can be a deeply enriching experience. Saudi culture is shaped by traditions, a strong sense of community, and a deep-rooted respect for hospitality, making it a unique place to build connections and experience cultural unity. Key Aspects of Saudi Culture and Camaraderie: 1. Hospitality (كرم الضيافة) Hospitality is a cornerstone of Saudi society. Whether you're visiting someone's home or interacting with locals, you'll likely experience warm welcomes and generosity. Coffee (Qahwa) and dates are often served as a sign of hospitality, and accepting them is a gesture of respect. 2. Respect for Tradition Saudi Arabia is rich in traditions and customs, many of which are linked to Islam and Bedouin heritage. Adapting to local customs, such as greeting with "As-Salamu Alaikum" (peace be upon you) and understanding modest dress codes, shows respect for the culture. 3. Shared Meals and Gatherings Food plays a central role in Saudi camaraderie. Traditional Saudi meals, often shared on large platters, bring people together. Dishes like Kabsa (spiced rice with meat) and other local favorites are often enjoyed in a communal setting, fostering a sense of togetherness. 4. Family and Community Saudis are known for their strong family ties and sense of community. Socializing with extended family and close friends is a big part of daily life. Being part of these gatherings helps to build strong, lasting relationships. 5. Religious and Cultural Respect Religion plays a key role in Saudi life, with Islamic practices guiding many aspects of daily routines. Joining in celebrations such as Eid or observing the significance of Friday prayers (Jumu'ah) helps connect with the cultural and spiritual fabric of the country. 6. Language and Communication While many Saudis speak English, learning some basic Arabic phrases is greatly appreciated and can deepen bonds with locals. Using common phrases like "Shukran" (thank you) or "Inshallah" (God willing) demonstrates an effort to connect with the culture. 7. Celebrating National Events Participating in national holidays, such as Saudi National Day (September 23), is a great way to experience Saudi pride and camaraderie. These celebrations highlight the country’s unity, history, and future ambitions. 8. Shared Activities Sports, especially football, are major aspects of camaraderie in Saudi Arabia. Whether watching a match with locals or joining a game, sports can create bonds across different backgrounds. Building Camaraderie as an Expat 4o

After a nearly two week tour of the Middle East, this is my last flight, so time for a countdown: 7 flights: Just over 8,000 miles flown, the same distance William Churchill and I covered last year in our challenge to drive around the world. More at www.vantageworldtour.com. 6 new meetings: Great to be extending our investor network. 5 cities: Jeddah has the friendliest taxi drivers, “Hello brother!” 4 countries: I hadn’t been to Qatar for a while, so enjoyed being back there. 3 airlines: Saudia have won my loyalty with hot mini pizzas. 2 time zones: And none too bad workwise with the UK on British Summer Time. 1 near constant question: When will interest rates start to fall? 0 gym visits: Combined with room service portions, this is not ideal. A positive trip, with a general view that 2024 is the year to get back into real estate. Just need a tickle down on the interest rates and the mood (like me) will be flying again. All the best, Philip.

Impressive growth! The Jeddah Historic District Program focuses on preserving the UNESCO World Heritage Site, enhancing its cultural and historical significance, and contributing to local economic growth through tourism and restoration projects. For example new growth: Recent developments in Jeddah's tourism projects include the launch of the Balad Hospitality Group by Balad Development Company, aimed at boosting tourism in Historic Jeddah with distinctive hotel experiences. Additionally, the Jeddah Central Project, launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to make Jeddah a world-class destination while preserving its rich heritage. These initiatives are part of Saudi Arabia's broader Vision 2030 to diversify its economy and enhance its tourism sector.

The launch of Culture Square in Historic Jeddah epitomizes Saudi Arabia's commitment to cultural revitalization and tourism under Vision 2030. By merging heritage with modernity, it creates a dynamic space for artistic expression and community engagement. Which Month Is Less Crowded For Umrah The best months for less crowded Umrah are Muharram (June-July) and Safar (July-August). Visiting during these times offers a peaceful experience, easier access to holy sites, and a chance to reflect without large crowds around you. Choosing the right time to perform Umrah can make a big difference. Many people wonder, “Which month is less crowded for Umrah in Saudi Arabia?” The months with fewer people make the Umrah experience more peaceful. There won’t be a lot of people at holy places when you go because the temperature during these months is high and most people from the UK try to avoid hot weather. This makes it easy to think and pray. You’ll enjoy your trip more if you know when to leave. Let’s look at the months that are best and least crowded for Umrah. #umrah #travel #umrahguide #besttimetotravel
