Freelance writers, do this more with your clients ⬇️ ⬇️ Tell them the 'strategy' behind your writing. Explain to them why you bolded specific words in a headline. Why you started with 'How to...' Why you removed a phrase like 'human-centric' or 'innovative solutions.' Let them know the framework you used for a blog or web page. They hired you for your writing and way of thinking (I hope). Show them they made the right choice. (It also may limit edits and hear more of 'I love this')

One of the things I wished someone tells me about when I started my work as a freelance writer is: To accept imperfect pieces as most of the time they sound perfect comparing to average writings out there! Remember two tips: 1. Perfection is one of the most crucial mistakes a new writer may get trapped in. 2. One of the best ways to write perfect pieces is to write any way and receive the feedback that can work as your best guide to enhancement and natural development. #Writing #omatips #ghostwriting

When I first started as a freelance writer, I used to think using fancy words such as 'commence' instead of 'start' or 'utilise' instead of 'use' was an indicator of how good of a writer I was. It was my second nature to go for these words over the simplistic choices. As I've refined my writing over the years and worked with editors, I've realised less is more when it comes to fluffy language. Sure, in some cases fancy words might work better to deliver your message, but for most website copy, email newsletters, or blog posts, it affects the clarity of your message and makes your writing less engaging. When do you think fancy language is appropriate? Does it mess with the clarity of your writing in your opinion?
