Financial freedom is a crucial pathway for women seeking to escape abusive relationships. When women gain control over their finances, they empower themselves to leave toxic situations, find safety, and rebuild their lives. At Cornerstone Women, we focus on helping women achieve financial independence through our Financial Freedom Project. This initiative offers personalized coaching and support networks designed to equip women with the skills they need to manage their finances effectively. By fostering confidence and providing essential tools, we empower women to take charge of their financial futures. Together, we aim to break the cycle of abuse and create a community where women can thrive independently. Empowering women to take control of their financial future is crucial, especially considering the lack of information and resources available to them. As a financial educator, I've witnessed firsthand the importance of women being at the table during financial conversations, whether single or married. It's time for women to be educated and informed about their finances, even if their partner takes the lead. We need to break the stereotype of women being clueless about money and ensure they have the knowledge and skills to support themselves and their families. With women typically managing 95% of household finances, it's clear that they are the CFOs of their families. Let's work towards equipping women with financial education from a young age, so they can make informed decisions and build a secure future. Together, we can achieve financial empowerment for all women. #HowMoneyWorks #Wealthwave #FinancialEducation #WomenEmpowerment #TakeControlOfYourFinances #BreakTheStereotype #WomenInMoney

Thank you Sarah King for leading on this campaign in the UK calling on HM Treasury to reverse the decision to so dramatically increase income thresholds for angel investors (from salary of 100K to 170K). 👇 Very proud to be one of the signatories on behalf of TechFoundHer calling for an inquiry into how the Government reached a policy decision that excludes so many women (who earn lower salaries than men) from angel investing. Diversity of founders matters and to achieve this we need diversity of funding streams and funders. The changes to angel investing regulation (increasing salary threshold from 100K to 170k) will dramatically reduce the number of women able to invest in startups with an estimated fall to near zero of women eligible in some places like Northern Ireland (with lower salaries). This is shocking – we can’t afford to shut down this crucial support stream. As women founders we face an eco system riddled with gender stereotyping and cultural and structural bias – having the opportunity to look to other women to angel invest is crucial. Women are often called the ‘missing’ entrepreneurs but we are here but often not ‘seen’ as investable by a male dominated investment community - we can’t afford to ‘miss out’ on the important channel of looking to other women for funding for our startups. This matters not just for the economy but our society and world. As Sarah King says "Now should be a time for progressive policy making." #herwealthherright #overbeingunderfunded #TechFoundHer Gabby Jahanshahi-Edlin Elizabeth Varley Carol L. Catherine Gray Beth G. Alongside 140 other senior women signatories, I signed this letter to Rt Hon Caroline Nokes, Chair of the Women and Equalities Select Committee, seeking an inquiry into how the Government reached a policy decision that excludes so many women from angel investing. Now should be a time for progressive policy making. Which is why ahead of #budget2024 I'm STILL calling on HM Treasury to reverse the decision to so dramatically increase income thresholds for angel investors. Pathfinders understands that women are most likely to be in charge of both allocating household resources and child rearing, meaning they are responsible for teaching their children about financial topics and transmit their financial habits through generations. Because of that, we've started women only financial capability classes. In this episode of ‘Conversations every Woman Should Have’ we unpack some of the mistakes women make when it comes to the financial responsibilities they take on. We discuss why women may find that they are taking on credit card debt to keep up with the family expenses or skimp on their retirement and future needs to provide for the children.
