‘Gen Z are just so hard to understand…’ Sound familiar? We’re tired of hearing it too. 💤 Introducing the Gen Z Guide for Employers LIVE. ⭐ At Pollen, our Gen Z team is here to debunk myths, bridge gaps, and share real strategies to bring generations together at work. Let’s face it—Gen Z aren’t aliens, and many of their so-called 'demands' are things everyone wants. Fair pay? Work-life balance? Growth opportunities? Yes, please! Get ready to challenge preconceptions, build understanding, and make your workplace the best it can be! In this first live we will unpack why people are opting out of university, why hiring shouldn’t rely solely on education or experience, and what Gen Z brings to today’s workplace beyond degrees. As well as answering any questions you might have. We met Liv Greaves at an event focused on Gen Z, where, as an advocate for apprenticeships and breaking away from the norm, she shared some truly insightful points that we believe many companies should take note of. Liv’s own choice not to pursue a degree highlighted for us the incredible talent companies miss out on by making degrees a requirement. Link to sign up in the comments! ⬇️ #careers #genz #genzhiring

It has been a little while since I shared some reflections. It's the last couple of months of 2024. Wow, where did this year go…? It is also the time of the year if you are in early careers or emerging talent space for kickoff talent attraction activities for 2025. I must get a minimum of 3 emails a day and two calls from providers for a range of events/products: from DE&I to apprenticeships, graduates solutions, learning and development, assessment, Onboarding, Campus events management, the favourite one, Tech (products to resolve all problems) 🤔 In a nutshell, it's busy. I was part of a fascinating discussion recently that raised several questions, which I thought I would share. I firmly believe there is no one set answer to them, but I firmly believe that wherever your answer is, it is an answer that reflects your organisational values and comes with integrity. ❓Should you participate in Campus Uni events if you do not have roles/program opportunities to offer? ❓ Are Campus events your main activity for attracting talent, brand awareness, or both? ❓ Is it right to use Campus events to promote the company? ❓ Are Campus activities no longer a relevant approach to attracting talent? Is it just too outdated for these generations of talent? ❓Why do companies invest a lot in Campus but yet do not invest the same amount of time, money, and exposure outside of graduate talent, yet DE&I is at the top of their agenda? So, whatever you're thinking right now, dearest reader (wow, that sounds like Bridgerton 📝), this was a very healthy but, in some way, heated debate. #earlycareers #emergingtalent #campus #graduate #values

Dear Esteemed Business Leaders, I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to introduce an innovative opportunity for well-established businesses like yours to join forces in funding a transformative youth development project through a comprehensive and holistic approach. At New Business Acquisitions, we are deeply committed to empowering young people through skills development, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities for growth. Our proposed learnership program aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing hands-on training in [specific industry or field] to a select group of motivated individuals from marginalized communities. We believe that by pooling resources and expertise from multiple businesses, we can create a more impactful and sustainable program that not only benefits the participants but also contributes to the growth and development of our workforce as a whole. The key components of our collaborative approach include: 1. **Funding:** Participating business contributes towards the overall budget to support the program's implementation and sustainability. 2. **Industry Expertise:** Businesses provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to help participants gain insights into the industry and develop valuable skills. 3. **Job Placement Support:** Partner companies offer internship opportunities, job shadowing experiences, and potential employment roles to program graduates. 4. **Community Engagement:** Through outreach initiatives and awareness campaigns, businesses showcase their commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment. We believe that by coming together in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose, we can achieve greater outcomes and create a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our community. Your participation in this initiative would not only benefit the learners but also showcase your company's dedication to investing in the future generation. I invite you to reach out to us in a meeting to further discuss this funding opportunity and explore how your company can play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals. Your insights and contributions will be invaluable in ensuring the success of this holistic approach to youth development. Thank you for considering this invitation to partner with us in this meaningful endeavor. Together, we can make a difference that transcends individual efforts and creates a ripple effect of positive change. Warm regards, Rebecca Naidoo New Business Acquisitions Mobile: 0747606822
