One of the highlights: “𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹.” A few notes to add based on our extensive research and work in the coachability space at Coachability Consultants, Inc.: • 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀. In addition to the importance of coachability for entrepreneurial success, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘳-𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘦𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 #𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, #𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, #𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 #𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. • 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. In our 2023 peer-reviewed study, we examined core characteristics that influence coachability, many of which are not included in this article. Our findings indicate expressed #humility, #feedback orientation, and the instrumental feedback motive impact coachability. 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘘𝘶𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 (𝘊𝘘) 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 - 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 - 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘴. • 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹. Our research also showcases that coachability is not just a trait that you have or do not; rather, it is a #skill that can be developed, improved, and sharpened through targeted skills #training.
