The reimagination of Jaguar is a core pillar of our Reimagine strategy. As one of our House of Brands, Jaguar’s unveiling of Type 00 is a significant milestone on that transformation journey. Jaguar has always been bold and original; today’s reveal is a prelude to a future generation of Jaguar vehicles that will recapture the spirit and essence of the brand at its best. A fearless statement. An object of desire with its long bonnet, sweeping roofline, 23-inch alloy wheels, fastback profile and boat-tail, creating a dramatic silhouette. Type 00 commands attention. Unveiled at Miami Art Week, Type 00 showcases Jaguar’s new identity and with inspiration from Jaguar’s rich heritage, including the leaper – a precious mark of provenance. Jaguar’s transformation will continue in 2025 with the unveiling of its first reimagined vehicle – an electric four-door GT – built in the heart of the UK. Through its new and unique Jaguar Electrical Architecture (JEA), and intelligent technologies, clients will enjoy a captivating driving experience, with engaging handling and exemplary ride comfort. This is the future of Jaguar. #JLR #Jaguar #Reimagine

Whoever approved this, even at this stage, should be fired and sent back to design school.

Awesome to see the Bold and Innovative Saab Aero X concept is still alive and well, almost 20 years later. Maybe one day someone will actually build it. (Pic - Conceptcarz.com)

I thought your new motto was “copy nothing,” but you copied the Rolls Royce Spectre?

If JLR can’t sell their current crop of Jaguar vehicles in sufficient numbers with its heritage and style, creations crafted by their best designers … what makes them think people will abandon the brands they have chosen over Jaguar before now for this? The tag line of copy nothing has already been shown to be thin on promise with multiple images of very similar manufactured concept cars and even more designs on paper, such that what’s been offered could be construed as plagiarism … Based on what has been shown and the apparent market segment they are looking for they appear to hoping to create a diamond in a lab with value, when the people with money that would buy diamonds want the real thing and wouldn’t touch the lab creation for love nor money. As for going full EV - residual values are through the floor why would you? Take a year old e-tron GT (Similar size vehicle?)with 10K miles. It drops 27% in a year That’s a drop in trade-in value from over £45,000 to just over £33,000. For comparison, a comparable diesel Audi A7 drops by 2.7% and petrol version by 1.7% over same time. Yeh let’s go full EV.

Launch a physical car...lots of noise from JLR around rebranding, self congratulation and concept images. The main thing is putting a strong physical car into the market and building the order book for it. With this in mind this new direction could have been communicated well to both existing and future buyers if the tone was better / more considered to get both. The car design is unique which in turn will create desirability in the space the brand is moving into. The comm's approach has missed mark in my opinion re tone as it missed the opportunity to take existing Jaguar buyers enthusiasts with you. The comments around Woke etc are unnecessary, so best to ignore those throw away comments. The comm's however could have been more relevant to high end enthusiasts who also spend lots of money on cars. The goal is selling cars when all is said and done.

Well done trying to fit those down the UK's country lanes. If indeed your customer base still lives in the UK. I imagine Dubai or the huge open roads of the US would be a better fit. Ah well, time will tell if the all electric dreams truly are the future. Personally, I think we've been sold a pup that's barking a different tune.

Happy to be the odd one out here and say I quite like it. As promised by the rebrand video everyone was talking about, it’s a bold, exuberant, new approach. Best wishes to the JLR team, looking forward to seeing where this goes.
