Today - right now, at this very moment - we unquestioningly allow all employees to create new data. The outcomes of this de facto process drive nearly all other decisions and strategies regarding technology and security. Is this still the best approach for companies? In my recent Substack post, I pick up the discussion from one of our recent podcasts, starting with the origins of this practice through its current impact on data sprawl and propose an alternative. As IT departments navigate daily breaches, widespread security concerns, and the unstoppable advancements of xAI, now seems like as good a time as any to challenge the conventional wisdom of universal data creation rights. Maybe, just maybe, there is a new approach to organizational data management and a more strategic balance between accessibility and control that should be considered. #DataManagement #OrganizationalEfficiency #FutureOfWork #calculusofIT

Learn how MD THINK materialized data-driven decision-making at scale. Patrick McLoughlin, Executive Director at MD THINK, speaks with Jeff Strane, Senior Director, Government and Education Affairs, SHI International Corp., in a video interview about the intention behind the creation of a state CDO position, materializing data-driven decision-making at scale, the pathway to cross-agency collaborations, transitioning the value of data to the non-tech side, and the challenges around terminology and data ownership. McLoughlin advocates meeting agencies where they are without overcomplicating the value of data for a particular agency. Therefore, it boils down to balancing overall goals and the outcomes to be driven and understanding the current state of data maturity. Only then, one can find ways to incorporate data-driven and informed decision-making using existing data or by leveraging data from other agencies to deliver outcomes. 👉 WATCH the interview here: https://hubs.ly/Q02VDWKF0 You can also find this episode on our podcast page! 🎧 LISTEN here - https://hubs.ly/Q02VDNw40 #Leadership #DataDriven #AI #DataSharing Did you find this post relevant? 🚀Take a deep dive into the world of data observability and how Acceldata is championing it. Rohit Choudhary, CEO and Founder of Acceldata, speaks with Mark Johnson, Chief Growth Officer at CoStrategix, in a video interview about his professional journey, data observability and its need, the relationship between AI and data observability, how data observability contributes to ensuring high-quality data for AI training and deployment, and model decay and how to prevent it. Choudhary states that while manual observability may have worked five or ten years ago, it is not feasible today. In the current scenario, organizations deal with hundreds of models, thousands of reports, and sometimes tens of thousands of ETL pipelines. To manage such a large and complex environment, he believes that observability will be at the core of how these intricate data and AI systems operate in the future. 👉 WATCH the interview here: https://hubs.ly/Q02RDL050 You can also find this episode on our podcast page! 🎧 LISTEN here - https://hubs.ly/Q02RDP5w0 #Leadership #DataGovernance #ThoughtLeadership #DataManagement Did you find this post relevant?
