📌 On July 1, 2004 - 2️⃣ 0️⃣ years ago - I started at Lünendonk GmbH in Bad Wörishofen, Bavaria. As employee no. 5, I moved from the Rhine-Main area to Unterallgäu to take on the role of Head of Market Research in the #B2B service market at Thomas Lünendonk. 📰 On my first day, there was a Leitz folder on the topic of #FM on my desk. It contained initial research on a market about which there was very little structured information at the time. I still remember studies by Helbling Business Advisors and Roland Berger. My first task was to publish the 1st #Lünendonk list and study on facility management in Germany. And in September 2004, thanks to the support of Hochtief FM (now SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa), HSG M+W Zander DIB, Gegenbauer (both now Apleona Group) and WISAG, we presented the market ranking and the study to the public. What a start! 🎉 That was 20 years ago, and the Lünendonk family presented me with the aforementioned folder and a wonderful gift at our shareholders' meeting. We looked back on some of the milestones of the past 20 years, such as 🔹 Customer appointments mainly with company founder Thomas Lünendonk in the #consulting, #audit #accounting and FM market with AirBerlin and dba 🔹 including witnessing project sales over the phone during a complicated parking process in Munich 🔹 Appointment as managing director 🔹 1st Lünendonk list #auditing and #tax consulting 2006 🔹 Move to Kaufbeuren 🔹 First Lünendonk Days and Awards 🔹 Appointment as managing partner 🔹 Relocation to Mindelheim 🔹 Renaming of the company to Lünendonk & Hossenfelder 🔹 Company handover to Jonas Lünendonk, Waltraud Lünendonk, Lisa Hossenfelder and myself 🔹 40th anniversary of Lünendonk 🔎 In the 21st year, it doesn't stay boring. We are reviving the study on the professional education market, which was discontinued in 2009, intensifying our business in Austria and Switzerland, and continuing the growth trajectory of recent years. Not to mention the digital transformation. 🙂 I am grateful for the many insights, but above all for the great trust of the shareholders, the support of my wife Lisa and the extremely strong Lünendonk team. Our contribution to Legal & General’s 2023 Annual Results reflects a resilient performance in the higher interest rate environment. Whilst market conditions can drive short-term volatility in valuations, we remain confident in the long-term profitability of our alternative asset portfolio. Our third-party AUM increased and remain on track to meet our ambition of £25-30bn by 2025.
