On the Creator Spotlight pod today — Rameel Sheikh. Started a newsletter from scratch 1 year ago and is already generating $30k/month. That revenue is currently a mix of: 💵 High-ticket ad sales ($1,200 each!) 💵 A vetted-membership community 💵 Consulting. He doesn't really identify with a creator, more as a founder; a very ops-guy approach to a content-first business. The newsletter is a platform that allows him to constantly experiment with new businesses — as a whole, he thinks of the project like a venture studio. PS - no founder wakes up at 5 am - they use the schedule feature to make you think so. PS 2 (sorry, Xbox) - some VCs pay for ghostwriters/video agencies to grow your personal brand. When hesitating to hit 'send' almost cost me my most brilliant transformation yet 👀 💎 The last 90 days have been absolutely wild + invigorating. After back-to-back projects, I had every intention of taking today to reset, relax, and (tbh) go to Trader Joe's. But here I am at sbux, laptop open, grocery run forgotten. Let's rewind a bit ⏮️ After a decade selling diamonds, I set my sights on B2B SaaS. I spent a year learning the space, studying the market, examining every facet of the industry. Immersing myself in the LinkedIn community, studying podcasts, and hunting for the perfect place to call home. Things got interesting when I stopped waiting for someone to see my potential and decided to bet on my own brilliance. Some wise advice from Amy Volas gave me the push I needed—and a message I almost didn't send changed everything. That message was to Melissa Gaglione✨ She has given me the space to leverage my strengths and build my own business. I've quickly realized that creator & brand partnerships are infinitely more powerful when both are perfectly aligned with an audience-first content strategy. Authenticity is the #1 buzzword right now for YouTube creators. But “just being yourself” won’t get you views… And it won’t help you get inbound leads from your channel. What you do have time for is creating videos that solve a specific problem your prospects are dealing with (and actively searching on YouTube about). Focus on the hook + getting people the information they need. You’ll build trust, bring in leads, and get an actual ROI on your videos.
