Here are my thoughts on the article published by the Lancet yesterday around the need for balance when it comes to approaching menopause. The article is linked in the comments below and I’d love to know what you think too. #menopause #empoweringwomen #herbalmedicine

The problem is the recent media coverage & hype about HRT & the impression given it's an "all-cure". Which it isn't. I fully agree that lifestyle changes and a holistic approach usually benefits most women. Ideally starting well before perimenopause. But this requires commitment. It's easier taking medication-and the trend seems for a lot of women to remain stuck on it into their 70s/80's. I fully appreciate that some women have horrid symptoms and HRT is appropriate.

I couldn't agree more with your comments - there are more ways to manage the symptoms associated with menopause than just MHT. Beyond that, presenting menopause as a transition to be feared is a disservice. Balanced information should be available to all so women can make informed choices based on their bodies and their circumstances. Thank you for sharing the article and your thoughts! 😊

Thank you for sharing Hannah I support my clients/patients in a Holistic Practice with education and use of essential oils, nutrition & lifestyle and counselling to optimise their well-being but appreciate in some cases they may require allopathic interventions. I am an advocate in integrative medicine ( as I receive some of my patients via nhs referrals) and feel that all individuals deserve choice but personally for me ( self) it’s natural & holistic 100%!
