I never expected to spend the past 7 years building health and sustainability data and technology for the food and grocery industry... BUT FOOD IS SO UNIQUE! We consume it 3X a day. It gives us health (and sickness). It's deeply personal. Food is medicine! Yet 60% of American adults have a diet-related chronic disease. Agriculture can sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and fuel local economies, biodiversity, & ecosystem resilience critical to our survival! Yet it's responsbile for 30% of global greenhouse gas emissions and 80% of deforestation. The opportunity to make a positive impact in peoples lives on a 1:1 and 1:8,200,000,000 basis has never been bigger than it is today in the food industry.
