It's crucial for businesses to stay vigilant and invest in strong security measures like multi-factor authentication. 2️⃣ Government Response to Cyber Threats: The podcast discusses how governments, such as the U.S. State Department and the UK government, are responding to cybersecurity threats. It's essential for organizations to be aware of government actions and recommendations in the cybersecurity space. 3️⃣ Industry Standards and Compliance: The episode highlights the need for industry standards and compliance, as seen in the $26 million FTC settlement with tech support companies and the investigation into Broadcom's VMware licensing changes. Has the Cyber Safety Review Board forced Microsoft's hand on security? It kind of appears that way, but either way, it appears the recent news out of Microsoft re: security focus, will be a net-positive for the industry! Microsoft has been in the crosshairs due to security issues for the last year+, and we've discussed those issues extensively on The Security Swarm Podcast 🎙 In a bit of good news however, Microsoft has now stated in multiple different communications that things are "Security First" moving forward. Time will tell, but this certainly a step in the right direction in my opinion. This whole situation also highlights the need for independent 3rd-party security providers in the market. With so much vender overdependence on a single company, a single misstep by said company can have real damaging and far-reaching impacts on society. That all said, Paul Schnackenburg and I discussed this extensively on last week's episode of The Security Swarm Podcast and what it means for Microsoft Cloud customers!
