Don't get me wrong, I love technologies that enable remote work, and virtual presence, but there's and undeniable truth that still holds: nothing quite compares to face to face interaction and groups of people actually spending time together. Last week our entire team at OrangeLoops experienced this first hand. We had everyone (well, almost) from everywhere come together for an in person work week, and a weekend retreat. It was a huge challenge from a logistics standpoint, but it was amazing. I feel things like this have an intrinsic value that's hard to balance in typical ROI calculations. #TeamBuilding #RemoteWork #CompanyCulture #OrangeLoops

Freedom is not free; free speech has great value.

It's as much my surprise to see my 1 year Champion anniversary. Honestly, it feels longer. This is my first 0-$1m build. I've done $5 - $100m US as COO, and the $13m - $45 in a $100m Global as GM of NAM. I was curious to discover how it would be different, and it certainly is. I am thankful to have done this at this stage in my career, because what it brought me is TRUST and RESILIENCY. I've shared a lot about the micro hi's and low's that this brings, and because of my experience I know to trust the process, and I see the pathway to $1m, $10m, $100m. Here are a few learns about being a founder: What I love: Creating vision, being able to really category define, the deep learning involved, and to share that vision with customers and being a part of their strategy build. This along with starting mostly in enterprise has allowed for deeper relationships with customers. What I didn't love: The period between the vision only sell, and V1 of the product - the beta sell, bouncing between figma and the bare bones barely a product that we had was honestly the hardest sell I have ever experienced because it's confusing for all. I wasn't my strength, but I got through it and I sold. What I love most: Working with a team that has deep trust in each other. When Jeff Reekers and I sat down at the prospect of doing this, one thing I knew above all is that Jeff is an amazing human being, and team player. We knew each others strengths and weaknesses, and rather than using them against each other we would (and do) compliment each other, we focus on empowering each others strengths and stepping in for the weaknesses. Meeting Courtney C., it was clear she was the missing piece to our puzzle, aside from roles, she has strengths we don't and believes in the philosophy of leading ego aside to best collaborate and show up for our team and our customers. That paired with said skills, it's unreal what she's been able to lead the engineering team to build. It's the people. I am so very thankful to Brian, Chris, Carson, and Ryan who make this company along side us an innovative and modern approach - both our tech, and our culture. To the early adopter customers who took a chance on us, forever grateful. To the many Customer Marketers who took and keep taking calls with me to share their experience and needs, forever grateful. To my teams of the past who have helped shape me, forever grateful.

Every month I swear this happens. I'm always killing him in the first half of the month's Outbound sprint. Every single time. (This is out current leaderboard as it stands). And just as I catch myself thinking 'This is it. This is the month I finally get the win'... he somehow claws it back and then crushes me by month's end. Releases a viral Playbook or something that earns him 2500 coins for all the outbound activity it results in. It kills me. But it also motivates the crap out of me. There's no way I'd be anywhere as practiced and experienced in outbound sales if it weren't for our monthly competitions.
