Plastics, in the form of micro-and nanoplastic particles, can bind to antibiotics and have biological impact according to new research at Max Planck Institute. Four different types of nanoplastics were cultured with Tetracycline-sensitive cell lines and found that the biological activity of Tetracycline drops in the presence of these plastic particles. This interaction can alter absorption, and potentially lead to antibiotic resistance. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gv3xNRs6 #antimicrobials
