There was quite a bit on recently and we missed the opportunity to cover the recent announcement that Waverton Investment Management and London & Capital Wealth Management had merged. This represents a significant event with the creation of a £17bn wealth business in the UK. PE firm Lovell Minnick Partners LLC will expand its original investment in L&C in 2022 to a majority holding in the combined group alongside Somers Limited which will continue as a significant shareholder in the new business having held a majority stake in Waverton since 2013. The combined group will leverage L&C's international clients being one of a handful of UK firms with UK & US permissions and alongside Waverton's own US permissions will expand its provision of planning and discretionary solutions & services to clients.
