🎉 To the white women who showed up—YOU are leading the charge! 🎉 I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who attended the RAARE Woman Collective Town Hall Summit. Your presence, vulnerability, and commitment to this work are exactly what’s needed to drive real, transformative change. By showing up, sharing your stories, and embracing the discomfort of growth, you are truly leading by example. We were guided over the past two nights by Dr. Nikki R. and Karen D. Smith Butler, two incredible Black women leaders who lead with love, compassion, and grace. They not only educated and supported us but reminded us of the urgency of this work. Racism and hate impact each and every one of us—regardless of our skin color—and the cost is something we can no longer ignore. Hearing the stories of the women of RAARE was a powerful reminder that racism has stolen something from each of us, and it’s time to take action. Together, we have the power to advance racial equity and create a world where racism can no longer live. These last two days were incredible. I knew when God gave me the vision to start the RAARE Woman Collective that this would be the most powerful and unprecedented experience for: 💣Women who were already leaning into their understanding of how racism works. 💣Women who had read all the books, watched all the movies and had completed as much independent study as they could, but didn’t know what to do with any of it 💣Women who are paying attention to the impact that racism has had in their own lives, the relationships that it has stolen, the friendships that it has eviscerated, the grandchildren that you can no longer see, the daughter or son-in-law that is not accepted by other family members 💣Women who are angry and disappointed at the state of affairs regarding race relations in our country, but know better than to lead in their advocacy work with that same anger and disappointment, 💣Women who are hungry for the language and resources to reframe how they realize impact… RAARE connects with women as leaders, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, cousin, community volunteers, best friends…consciousness, curators and influencers. We lift you AND your work wherever you are. We ask you to simply reflect on the spaces and places you already are: your home, your workplace, your community, and start your racial equity advocacy there, where you ostensibly already have critical “know, like and trust” currency. Uplifting white women who have a desire to understand the power they have in just their proximity to other people who, on the topic of racial equity, must be moved. Giving them the language, change management strategies, supportive community, tools, attributes, mindset strengthening and norms,to assure success as an advocate in this most precarious doctrine. And with all of that as foundation, you develop your annual racial equity plan that we support you in executing. 🌟 Reflecting on a Landmark Event: Worthington Chamber's Annual Luncheon & Awards Ceremony 🌟 Last Thursday marked a milestone for our Chamber as we hosted the largest Annual Luncheon & Awards Ceremony since 2009. The event's theme, “ALL IN,” truly resonated as we celebrated the evolution of our Chamber and outlined the ambitious path forward. In 2025, we're set to advance our businesses and community in impactful ways: 🔹 Introducing the Worthington Business Advocacy Council: We're doubling down on our commitment to business advocacy. This initiative has been a driving force in my Chamber career, and with the backing of our Board and community leaders, we're poised to make a significant impact through the WBAC, along with more in the works, including having three representatives sitting on the Ohio Chamber’s Small Business Council. 🔹 Launching RISE our DEI Initiative: After months of planning, RISE (Revitalizing Inclusion and Supporting Enterprise) is ready to make Worthington a more inclusive business environment. Our mission is clear: invest in connections, amplify diverse voices, empower diverse businesses, and foster community. 🔹 Empower Her Symposium: In collaboration with the Harding Buller Foundation, we're excited to host this event, featuring inspiring speakers and impactful sessions for women across Greater Worthington and Central Ohio. 🔹 Reviving Service Day: With the help of this year's Leadership Worthington cohort, we're addressing critical needs of our aging population. We're committed to supporting City Council's Visioning process and enhancing our community service efforts. As I emphasized on Thursday, “Wenn schon, denn schon.” If we're going to do something, let's go ALL IN with everything we've got—no more waiting. Central Ohio is growing rapidly, and our businesses face too many challenges to settle for anything less. Sounds great… so what’s the catch? There isn’t one. No pitch. No lectures. Another day, another networking event today with the wonderful Women In Business Network (WIBN) The power of face to face networking is incredible. Getting out of our comfort zone and making time to make real meaningful connections is priceless. One of the businesses in the room is now a paying client (after spending just 3 hours together).... Mandi has just taken redundancy and is the process of starting her new business. Incredibly passionate about her thing (with 20 years experience of doing that thing). And yet no idea where to start or how to make her thing into a business. Because she has never ran a business before. Cue, Me! She could see instantly the impact I could have on her and her business. I am now going to work with her on creating her business plan and her sales strategy so she can then focus on getting her genius out into the world. Given she's ADHD she needs instruction and accountability so that's what she is going to get from me. Support, advice, guidance and accountability. Starting with a 1:1 planning day next week. This is the power of networking and getting visible. And this is the impact I can have, literally changing lives and making a difference. Who currently holds you accountable?

Today, as we continue to dismantle DEI barriers, it is more important than ever to focus on actionable solutions. Reflecting on the summit, hosted back on June 8, 2023. The inaugural Black Women Thrive Summit took place in Oakland, CA and was a transformative experience for all involved! Despite the odds, we are still inspired and committed to continuing this crucial work to see Black women succeed and reach their highest potential. I urge each of you to consider what steps you can take in your organizations, platforms and communities to support DEI initiatives. Together, we can create a future where Black women have the opportunities, support, and resources they need to thrive in the workplace, media, sports, academia, financial institutions and philanthropy. We have been diligently working on key partnerships to bring forth a bigger and more impactful experience.
