"Generative AI’s Impact is Overblown" is a popular headline I see often. A key lesson I learned from my last startup's failure was that focusing on cutting-edge technology, instead of addressing tangible customer problems, is a losing proposition. There is a similar trend with Generative AI. Many builders are too eager to integrate the tech without considering if it meets their customers' needs. GenAI is a powerful tool, but it should be looked at as one option among many, rather than a solution in search of a problem. Is the GenAI story overhyped or are you finding ways it can solve real customer problems?
Agree Erik. Businesses not focused on solving customer problems and quantitative ROI goals lead to disillusionment surrounding Ai. Sending you a note!
Great insight Erik, I agree especially with that of problems coming for an AI based solution, and not the other way around, as the potential of AI is enormous, but practical implementations are still limited, especially those that diligently apply the responsible AI principles which for now is rather challenging.
Great post! Devin Kearns - reminds me of your approach to the AI market

4moGreat thoughts, Erik! I do think it is overblown and the technology, outside a few good use cases, does not serve users well enough to justify the cost of implementing it.
