Fantastic insights here from Navah Hopkins and Optmyzr — I'm now planning to set up a sentence case ad experiment ASAP!
One of the biggest findings from the Optmyzr Ad Strength and creative study is the impact of title vs sentence casing. According to the data, we found: 1. Responsive search ads have 40% better ROAS when using sentence casing instead of title casing. 2. These ads achieved 45% better CPAs with flat CTR. 3. Demand Gen ads did even better with sentence casing: 47% improvement on ROAS, 5x cheaper CPAs, and 240% better conversion rates. The only ads that had some wins for title casing were expanded text ads (ETAs). I've been thinking a bit more on why this is... Organic listings are by in large title cased (the exception being forums). I'm wondering if the performance gains are from users beginning to prefer forum listings over website listings (that they still convert on the landing page means the page did a good job of addressing their needs). I wonder if Google (and Microsoft) will make any changes to SERPs to allow for sentence casing for all placements. BTW, if you haven't read the study yet, it's in the comments and addresses a lot of biases around ad copy. Hope you enjoy!
