If you're a Marketing Manager or Business Owner & feel Google Ads leads are getting worse, it's probably a result of a change that Google made. When Google Ads launched, it was simple & effective. You target people searching using specific keywords & show them your ad. For example, if you owned a web design company based in Glasgow, you could target the exact phrase [website design Glasgow] and be sure that your ad would show to people searching for that. If you target that today, you can't predict what you'll show for. That's because Google introduced close variant targeting. Here's an example of what might happen if you target the keyword [website design Glasgow] today: You could show when people search for: Wix website builder Graphic designers Glasgow I have no money & want to build a website +whatever else helps Google hit its quarterly sales target You can see why a website design company may not want to pay for traffic from people searching for "I have no money & want to build a website." Here's the worst part... People searching for products or services that your business doesn't offer still generate leads. That's because people have been trained over the past 20+ years to assume that the search results they see are relevant. Often people click the first link they see, hurry through a website, and make an enquiry. That means you may think a specific campaign is performing well when you look at your Google Ads report. However, the leads are awful because Google has ploughed cheap, irrelevant traffic to your website. If you run campaigns using a bidding strategy such as Max Conversions, the problem can get worse over time. That's because Google's algorithm thinks it's doing a good job when, in fact, the traffic is wasting your time & money. How do you fix this? The person managing your Google Ads campaigns must have a good understanding of your business. They need to be able to spot when a search term generates traffic & leads that aren't right for your business. They can do this by analysing the search term report. This isn't a one-off job. You'll be locked into a constant battle with Google until the end of time unless they reverse the change... As this is such a time-consuming, tedious task, we have been forced to write & deploy scripts on several accounts to automate this process. Here are the 3 steps you need to take to combat the problem: -Get a Google Ads professional to analyse your search term report. - Discuss whether the traffic you are generating could be sending you horrendous leads. -Put a process in place to combat the issue. You may notice that I used the word "combat" rather than "fix." That's because only Google can fix this. Until they do (and they probably won't), you'll need to take the steps I mentioned to stop them from rinsing your bank account. To put this into context, nearly every new business enquiry I've had this month relates to this issue.

Super top level intro to PPC the aim of the game is to get as revenue as possible or drive as many leads as possible for far less than they are worth to you. When running paid search ads you're almost guaranteeing traffic. What that traffic does for your business is entirely up to you, how well you manage the ad account, your brand, product service website etc etc. These are all different variables you have control of that ultimately come together to drive results. For “most” businesses most of the time you just want to acquire more new customers for less than they are worth to you i.e in you want your CAC/CPA to be less than your AOV / LTV.

so we just booked 22 calls in the last 7 days at my agency but if you run an agency you should NEVER obsess over the number of booked calls to some extent it's a vanity metric it only makes sense to book a lot of calls when they are qualified, show up rate is high and they're actual potential buyers I'd rather book 5 warm calls from YouTube and close 3 clients then flex booking 50 unqualified cold calls only to waste 50 hours of my life and close 5 of them want to learn how I use YouTube to nurture and pre-close our sales calls? comment or DM me "YouTube" and I'll send you a video training

I’ve 30x’d my client’s YoY organic clicks. Below I’ll show you step-by-step how. No it’s not a new business and no I’ve not sensationalised the number. I’ve done it through a clearly thought-out SEO strategy focusing on non-branded keywords to supplement the weight of their own brand equity. How? 1. Break down the product range. They sell clothing but I’ve looked at the types of products, the colours, the materials etc. 2. Understand the buyer. Who is wearing this clothing and for where? It has then allowed me to target specific search for clothing for specific dates, events, milestones etc. 3. Combine the above to do thorough keyword research to understand what and how people are searching. 4. Create a new site architecture with clearly mapped out keywords to pages to show where I want users going and minimalise cannibalisation. 5. Write optimised page titles, URL strings, H1s & meta descriptions for each page either new or existing, utilising the keyword research. 6. Create on-page copy for each of these pages allowing for further targeting of keywords and introduction of longer-tail keywords. 7. Implement new site navigation so that new pages are not only easily discoverable to users but to search engines too, allowing them to be crawled and indexed. 8. Create and implement a new internal linking structure amongst the newly optimised pages to share authority and again help Google crawl & index. 9. Consistently monitor performance of these pages, analysing against other channel mix and impact on revenue. 10. Identify lesser-performing pages and tweak optimisations across on-page to internal linking structure to support growth. This step-by-step breakdown is on-page SEO basics, but not basic to do. This takes *alot* of hours to conduct, but when done properly you will reap the rewards. A good SEO strategy should allow your business to grow through non-branded search, when your business already dominates for your own brand’s search demand.
