Elinor Batteries’ Post

Elinor Batteries is one of the few European battery initiatives that is progressing as planned. Yes, you heard that right! Finansavisen published an article today highlighting Elinor's role in the global battery market. At a time when many battery initiatives are facing significant challenges, Elinor stands out as one of the few companies still on track with plans to build a gigafactory in Orkland. Europe is in the midst of fierce global competition to establish a robust and sustainable battery industry. In this race, fair conditions are critical. For European battery factories to succeed, we need a level playing field – both in Europe and globally. At Elinor Batteries, we’ve adopted a strategy that sets us apart. By leveraging a capital-light setup and collaborating with our partner Morlus Technology, we can keep costs low while simultaneously building competence and capacity. This approach provides us with a clear competitive edge, especially as the battery market is expected to regain balance within the next 2–3 years. Moreover, our location in Orkland gives us access to affordable, renewable energy and proximity to world-class research institutions such as SINTEF and NTNU. These are just some of the advantages Elinor brings to the table. Europe has an incredible opportunity to lead the green transition, but success depends on ensuring fair competition.
