If you're a business based in #northyorkshire then this is for you. Taking time out of your business is always tough, but the benefit it provides can be tremendous. Time out to look at business progress, things to improve, emerging opportunities, or just to hear from other companies about their journey. We've wrapped all these elements up, and more, into a series of 6 workshops around the themes of: Strategy: Creating building blocks for growth, Innovation and Team Development. These 1/2 day workshops will give you the opportunity to focus on different parts of your business, and either build a plan from scratch, or enhance and reflect on the plan you have. It's also a great opportunity to engage with other companies, and learn new ideas and techniques that you can apply directly back to your business. With over 20 years cross-sector experience wrapped up in these workshops, whether you're manufacturing ice cream in the #yorkshiredales , a manufacturer in #scarborough, or professional services in #harrogate - there's something in these sessions for you. What's more, they're 50% funded by York & North Yorkshire Growth Hub, so you can book on all 6 face to face workshops for as little as £600 ex vat. Sign up is really easy. Pick the workshops you want, contact Adrian O'Neill, and he will do the rest. We’re not just another networking group, business accelerator, peer support circle, or referral program. We’re more like a family—connected by something deeper that goes beyond business transactions. There’s an unspoken bond that brings us together, driven by shared values, purpose, and a genuine desire to see each other succeed. It’s hard to explain, but it’s what makes the Bright Business Club unique. We’re here for growth, but also for each other—personally and professionally. Can anyone help better define that special bond that connects us? What do you think makes it so unique? Let’s put it into words together. #BrightBusinessFamily #PurposeDriven #Community https://lnkd.in/drfPPCAG

As a guy who was knocked for six during Covid and left with no job and no other option than to startup to survive, I can honestly say I now understand the unrelenting dedication and hard work that goes into running a business. Just managing to maintain delulu levels of optimism and living on nothing but beans and toast is something most people never consider when saying those fateful words; “I’m going to start a business” Even at the best of times It takes a helluva lot longer than you’d ever anticipate, And businesses have had to contend with everything from batflu to Brexit on top of that since 2019z The past few years have truly tested the grit, determination and resilience of many. Yet, almost every business seems to have emerged stronger and more driven than ever. The Wigan Business Awards will celebrate not just success, but the journey and effort behind it. For that reason, I am honoured to be confirmed as a judge for Wigan Business Awards The awards received more than 500 nominations - and I’m super excited to work with the other judges and showcase those local businesses who are committed to lifting each other up 👏🏻 Because teamwork makes the dream work muchachos! If you’re based in Wigan or surrounding I believe applications are still open, For more information on the awards, see comments. #SmallBusiness #StartupStories #Wigan #BusinessAwards

It was an honor to participate in another industry Roundtable sponsored by the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship and Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Thanks to Peterson Companies for hosting us at National Harbor. Christopher Gaulke, CCC, MBA, Christina McDowell (Marinchak), Ph.D., and Michelle Mahool brought together a dynamic group of educators and pros from all corners of the hospitality industry to learn from one another and discuss common challenges and opportunities. We’re all in this together, and the spirit of support and collaboration among the group was encouraging. We tackled issues including the rising cost of doing business, ways to attract and retain great people, and how to structure our organizations to make greater impacts on the guest journey, employee experience, and financial performance. I left the room more optimistic than when I entered. If you’d like to learn more about Cornell Roundtables and the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship, please leave a comment below or DM me. 🔸 Let’s help narrow the gap between your goals and your ability to achieve them. If this post is helpful, please share it, and follow for more content. #Business #Hospitality #Leadership #Innovation #Community #Purpose #Culture #CX #Cornell #Entrepreneurship

Today, we're thrilled to celebrate one of our inspiring Executive Roundtable members, Nicholas Smith, CEO of Happy Haven OSHC, who has not only built a successful business but has also demonstrated incredible resilience and leadership. Nicholas founded Happy Haven in 2013, leveraging his background in Health Sciences to launch a company that now offers over 56 services and employs more than 640 people, most of whom are part-time. His journey through the complex landscapes of entrepreneurship has been marked by significant milestones and personal growth. In 2021, Nicholas's commitment to his vision was further solidified when he purchased the building that Happy Haven calls home. Under his leadership, Happy Haven won its first major tender in 2015, a testament to the innovative and impactful services they provide. Nicholas’s journey has not been without its challenges. He has navigated personal and professional storms with determination and grace, supported by the community at our Executive Roundtables. After a brief hiatus, he returned to the roundtables, where he has been an active and valuable participant, sharing his experiences and learning from peers in an environment that thrives on mutual support and collective wisdom. Here’s what Nicholas has to say about his experience with the Executive Roundtables: "As someone who values self-development and continuous improvement, Executive Roundtables have been a big win both personally and professionally. We sit down as peers to share successes and challenges, creating an environment where no one feels uncomfortable sharing the lessons learned. This collaborative approach has profoundly impacted my personal and business development."
