It was an honor to participate in another industry Roundtable sponsored by the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship and Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Thanks to Peterson Companies for hosting us at National Harbor. Christopher Gaulke, CCC, MBA, Christina McDowell (Marinchak), Ph.D., and Michelle Mahool brought together a dynamic group of educators and pros from all corners of the hospitality industry to learn from one another and discuss common challenges and opportunities. We’re all in this together, and the spirit of support and collaboration among the group was encouraging. We tackled issues including the rising cost of doing business, ways to attract and retain great people, and how to structure our organizations to make greater impacts on the guest journey, employee experience, and financial performance. I left the room more optimistic than when I entered.
