🙏📖👀 Rosies Book Reviews! 📕 Mum's Jumper by Jayde Perkin 💭 This is a simple but effective book that will strike a chord with anyone experiencing grief. It depicts the story of loss, the immediate effects and the 'growing around your grief' analogy with the support of those around you. The book is gentle, genuine and relatable. Parents could read this with their children and would be suitable for children aged 5+ I'd say (developmentally speaking). I believe this book may pave the way towards normalising feelings and experiences which at the time will feel completely abnormal and unwanted. Keep your eyes peeled for the next review in the series! #therosieroom #rosieleigh #grief #loss #parentsandcarers #bookreview

Faces of Grief is a hodgepodge of stories written by people battling grief related to their circumstances. Each author has utilized this book as an opportunity to continue their individual fight with their grief while helping others battling their grief understand that there are ebbs and flows. Still, those changes become opportunities for progress, growth, and an elevation that will bring people closer to a new version of themselves. #griefjourney #perspectivematters #growthroughwhatyougothrough

🎉PUBLICATION DAY🎉 I can’t believe I get to type these words…Grief is a Sneaky Bitch: An Uncensored Guide to Navigating Loss published by University of Texas Press is now available in paperback and as an audiobook on your favorite online booksellers. You can also get a copy at your favorite local bookstore and request copies at your local library too. BOOK DESCRIPTION Showing up as your wise best friend, this social worker and widow offers a comprehensive and compassionate guide to navigating loss. When social worker, Lisa Keefauver, became a widow she quickly discovered how the misguided stories we consume about grief lead to unnecessary suffering. Responding to the problematic narratives that grief is something to move on from after completing the five-stages like some sort of to-do list, Keefauver became a grief activist. Navigating the messy reality of grief in a world obsessed with Top-10 lists and productivity can feel lonely and confusing. Through this book and her hit podcast of the same title, she creates a safe place to be inside the messiness of it all. Keefauver shares her personal and professional wisdom alongside the lessons she’s learned from clinicians, authors, poets, and friends. In place of rigid instructions and must-do checklists, Grief is a Sneaky Bitch invites reflections, encourages self-compassion, and explores the therapeutic power of humor with, yes, a bit of profanity. BOOK TOUR I would love for you to join me and some very special authors this month as I literally take planes, trains, automobiles (and ferries) to crisscross the country on the first leg of my book tour. Check the 🔗 in my bio for more info. With love and gratitude, Lisa P.S. If you’ve already received your copy because you pre-ordered it, an extra special thank you to each and every one of you. #grief #griefandloss #griefsupport #griefisasneakybitch #widow #socialworker #griefactivist #cancersurvivor #podcasthost #book #books #booktour #author #publicationday

OUT NOW! 🎉 My book, Conscious Grief: Transforming pain into evolution and growth, is officially out! Why purchase my new book? 📚 If you are feeling bewildered and lost in grief, this book is the companion you need. At some stage, everyone experiences grief. Whether you consciously experience it or not is a choice. Within the pages of Conscious Grief, you’ll discover ideas on how to support yourself as you grieve through self-care practices, therapies, modern mourning, spiritual seeking, and navigating triggers that abound in the sensitive mourning state. Our theme for the month of June is, “Be Right Back.” It brings back self-compassion and also takes us back to some uncomfortable places. In this theme, we have a few BIPOC books about grief, loss, and stories of finding meaning. The books cover a wide span from experiences of refugees, to children dealing with unexpected loss in their lives. If you've read some books that speak to you in difficult times, share those with us! https://buff.ly/3RzlVyD #writingcommunity #diversifybookshelves #bookrecommendations
