As seen in the video, one of the resources we offer is the Seeds of Hope learning series. Seeds of Hope guides you in navigating the dementia journey and allows you to hear directly from professionals working in the field. It provides support from diagnosis until the end of life through education and practical tools. When you begin to wonder about how to cope with situations such as: 1. What do I do when they don’t want to take a shower anymore? 2. How do I communicate with them effectively? 3. How am I going to afford this? 4. What is respite, and where can I find it? 5. What legal issues might arise that I should be prepared to address? etc The Seeds of Hope learning series holds your hand through the stages of dementia progression so you are prepared and in control. I took all of you on a run with me today to help clear my head and this thought downloaded... Parents are often faced with having to make very important decisions like: Should my child start Gr 1 or spend another year in reception? Should my child remain in mainstream or move to a remedial school? Should my child move to a vocational or skills-based curriculum? Should my child take medication? And we are at the mercy of professionals and medical practitioners who advise us and tell us what we should do. We have to trust and have blind faith that we are making the right decision. The more information we have at our disposal and the more educated and aware we are, the more empowered and confident we feel. Join the parent masterclass, "No Limits To Learning - Empowering Neurodiverse Minds and never feel disempowered again. I attended an Evening at Kingsley School. David Loyld gave a talk about SEND and how families are struggling for a Diagnosis and reasons for long waiting. He spoke about how individuals in the medical profession struggle to maintain good mental health because they are supporting soo many patients, average daily should be..25 the Medics/Doctors/Paediatrician/Nurses see 75 + a day. As they want to help us! Understanding Special Educational Needs in children and adults is soo important. How do you learn about this? Is this a subject that can discussed during PHSE in schools? Staff training? I have gained so much knowledge by doing my own research talking to other parents/SEN teachers/attending talks. I really hope with new government will support more training in schools for all staff. So our children can get the right support they need. I highly recommend ACE (Austic Children Embraced) for support or questions. One thing I have taken away from today's meeting..I asked many questions - correct - questions will give you answers it may not be what we are looking for now, but it's a start. Help and support is available even if your child does not have a diagnosis. We are our children's voice.

Supporting Aged Care Teams to Thrive | Registered Nurse | Practicing clinician | Dementia Specialist | Positive Approach to Care Champion Teacher | Nursing Leader | COPE Trained
Translating knowledge into practice. How often does it actually happen? How much education and resources do we have available to us? A lot. How much education in health and aged care is related to teaching us skills to help us be able to provide better and safe care? You would think a fair bit given we are physically having to touch the people we are providing care for. So what do you think translates better into practice- just the theory learnt, a mix of theory and practical skills or just the practical skills? Think about the last training/education that you completed. What was your key takeaway learning from it? What skills have you put into practice since attending it? Let me know below. Our #positiveapproachtocare dementia education programs are practical, skills based training where the learnings can and are translated straight into practice. If you provide care for people living with dementia, then you need the knowledge and the skills to be able to do so. To be a part of our final PAC programs in 2024, check out the links in the comments. #dementia #dementiaeducation #training #practicaltraining #skills

There's a better way to talk about SI💜 In a time when therapists continue to feel underprepared and unsupported to address SI, we need modern education and resources, as well as an approach that doesn't include fear mongering, now more than ever. At 12 hours, this course is twice the length of most mandatory continuing education - we think that shows just how necessary a change really is... This comprehensive course presents information, practices, and resources compassionately, holding space for clinicians to work through their own fear and anxiety regarding this topic. Offered in both text and audio formats, with suggested breaks and check-ins throughout, we hope to be inclusive of all learning styles. Included is a 50-page workbook of self-reflection questions, journal prompts, client handouts and homework, infosheets, and notes pages to support your learning. ✔ CEU-Approved for LCSW, LPCC, LMFT https://lnkd.in/gieeSsFF [ If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free and confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also reach the Lifeline via live chat at 988lifeline.org. In life-threatening situations, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. ]
