When it comes to women making gains in #MBA programs, the long-term trends are encouraging, even as progress can seem painfully slow. This fall at 61 MBA programs in the US and abroad, women's enrollment reached a new high of 6,166, the Forté Foundation recently reported. Since 2020, enrollment of female students has increased 13%, outpacing the 3% growth rate for men and women combined. But over the past year, growth has been stagnant -- women made up 42% of all students enrolled in an MBA program this fall, the same percentage as in 2023. Where is all this heading? And how many schools / MBA programs were able to achieve gender parity? Forté’s CEO Elissa Ellis Sangster says her organization must keep working with schools to get as many of them as possible into the 40 - 50 percent range or higher.

“There is no force more powerful than a women determined to rise” -W.E.B Dubois Gender cannot measure ambition; gender cannot restrict passion and gender in no way be the basis to forbid education, for education is empowerment. However, it’s our society's failure that even in these modern times where the world is headed towards the 4th major revolution in the history of mankind, women struggle for the basic right of knowledge. In all sense of the word, the fact that women have to fight, struggle and strive to demand a basic human right is devastating. Following is the true story of 3 women who all though come from versatile background's, have experienced the tangling bounds of the society firsthand and yet chose to educate themselves and ultimately got led to intellectual liberation. They prove that families flourish when the women are literate, societies prosper when the women are respected, Countries develop when the women are educated. Witness the Educational Evolution of Canadian Women! From 2018 to 2023, there's been a remarkable shift in educational attainment levels. While the percentage of women with education level of Basic Schooling (Up until middle school) gradually declines, the proportion pursuing Higher Education (University Degree) steadily rises. This data reflects a positive stride towards empowering women through higher education. Let's continue to invest in educational initiatives that propel this upward trend and support women's journey towards academic and professional success! #EmpowermentThroughEducation #EducationalEvolution #WomenInCanada #InvestInEducation

Since 2000, more than 50 percent of the people employed in Australian universities have been women. In 2022, 57.7% of all staff are women, down 0.7 points from 58.4% in 2021. The proportion of women in academic leadership positions increased to 38.3% in 2022, up by 22.8 points from 15.5% in 2001. Progress has been made but there are still many barriers to overcome to attain parity in seniority and pay. For an overall perspective on progress made since the 2000s, here is my commentary published two years ago in Campus Morning Mail: https://lnkd.in/gvaZQHxq

Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore, also half of its potential. However, gender egalitarianism is still elusive in the social fabric of most societies, and science is no exception to that, feels Chaitanya Lekshmi Indira Associate Professor at Plaksha. Tremendous efforts have been made in the last few decades, across the world, to increase the participation of women in higher education. Still they are under represented in most fields. On this 9th International Day of Women and Girls in Science the discussion revolves around Women in Science Leadership as a new era for sustainable development through its three pillars, namely social justice, economic prosperity and environmental integrity. STEM is widely regarded as the prime engine for steering national economies and self-reliance, and for tackling some of the greatest challenges ranging from improving public health to combating climate change. It cannot be effective without harnessing all talent across nations, she feels. Even as the core issues for women and girls often lie within the realm of shorter and less-paid careers, getting passed over for promotions and under representation in high profile positions as they reconcile more work and family life than men, key contributions in various fields have been made globally by some highly talented women scientists. It is no secret that while assuming leadership roles women often stand out for their rigour, organization and delegation. Yet, the numerous barriers and the mindsets the female scientists continue to face often discourage young girls from pursuing scientific careers, reducing their participation. UNESCO has called for action to close the gender gap in science and recommendations for tackling the root causes of gender-based inequalities in science and best practices to be put in place. The latter in such a mission should weigh in carefully as the point here is not to merely exchange gender proportions disturbing the delicate balance of social fabric. The focus must be on innovative education, sustainable technologies and empowering work environments that calls for true human growth and work-life balance alongside the economics, ultimately steering the national growth and self-reliance, Says Dr. Lekshmi. At Plaksha University we aim to address the grand challenges of the society that requires a holistic perspective to life, and therefore a larger participation of women and girls in science. #womeninstem #womeninscience #womeninengineering GWiST Plaksha Tech Leaders Fellowship Office of Corporate Partnerships and Careers at Plaksha University CTLC Admin
