Self-doubt in GenZ - What can parents do?
The seeds of self-doubt and self-criticism in Gen Z are often rooted in their increased exposure to social media.
As parents, we ourselves are still learning and adapting to the significant influence of the social media. Parenting in this era is an excellent example on-the-job learning 😊
So, how can we guide our children through this challenge?
💥 Acknowledge reality: Social media isn’t going anywhere. Shielding children entirely may do more harm than good in the long run.
💥 Educate yourself: Stay informed about the effects of social media and how it can be leveraged positively.
💥 Teach critical thinking: Help your child discern the difference between curated content and reality, empowering them to navigate the digital world with a critical eye.
💥 Encourage real-life interactions: Create opportunities for your kids to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
💥 Celebrate efforts, not just results: Reinforce the value of learning through mistakes, emphasizing growth over perfection.

The 1st and most important thing for parents is to acknowledge, accept and understand the effects of social media. We need to be aware that we do not have any guidelines or any testimonials from previous generations to figure out the effect of social media. Also, it is very critical to understand that each one of us has face some problem or the other or face some dilemma or the other with social media. So our kids are not any exception to this. So when it comes to self doubt, having open conversations about social media and the picture that it portrays is the first and most important thing. Apart from that, we can have constant dialogues with them. Appreciate their efforts, not the results. Appreciate the efforts to inculcate resilience once the children understand that instead of trusting and believing all on what they see on the screen. The real life examples. Around them are talking about something that is more tangible, they will automatically tend to believe us more. We can also introduce them to successful people in our circle or role models with whom they can actually interact and learn from their journey. So I think if we keep working on this issue from all angles, we can definitely help them overcome their self doubt.

As parents, guiding our children through the maze of social media can be as daunting as it is crucial. In this digital age, where screens dominate our lives, it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed. But don’t worry because together we can make sure we provide them with all the support and care they need!
First and foremost, let’s embrace open communication. Start by having heart-to-heart conversations with your children about their online experiences. Listen attentively, without judgment, to their thoughts, concerns, and interests. By creating a safe space for them to express themselves, we establish trust and foster a sense of security that they can turn to us for guidance whenever needed.
Discuss and agree upon reasonable limits for screen time and the types of content they can access. Remember, it’s not about restricting their freedom, but rather about teaching them healthy habits and responsible digital usage.
Be mindful of the content you share and the interactions you engage in online, as they serve as powerful lessons for our impressionable young ones. Keep updated on the latest trends and apps that may impact your child’s digital experience.
Eventually, it always helps to foster a sense of balance in their lives. Encourage them to explore offline activities, spend quality time with family and friends, and prioritize their mental and physical well-being. Remind them that while social media can be a wonderful tool for connection and self-expression, it’s just one aspect of their lives, and real-life experiences hold immeasurable value beyond the screen.
Guiding our children’s social media usage with love is a journey filled with challenges and rewards. Let us together empower our children to navigate the digital world with confidence, resilience, and compassion.🌸

hashtag#Technology and hashtag#socialmedia come with greater responsibility for parents in terms of monitoring their children's use and time.
In a world where everyone has a fixed hashtag#digital mindset, parents are responsible for encouraging and stimulating kids with playful traditional methods rather than giving them just mobile hashtag#phones or tabs. 📵
When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts. 💜

Teenager: "Dad, why don't you ever have time to talk to me?"
Parent: "I'm busy with work, you know that. We can talk during dinner, right?"
Teenager: "Dinner isn't the same. You're always distracted, and we just talk about grades or chores. You never ask about my interests or what's happening online ."
Parent:- "Social media? I don't get why you spend so much time on it. It's just a waste."
Teenager: "See, that's the problem. You don't even try to understand. My friends and I connect there. It's important to me."
Parent: You should focus on real-life interactions."
Teenager: "You say that, but you're never around to interact with. At least online, I have people who listen and understand me. It feels like you're not really interested in my world at all.
And until you make an effort to understand that, we'll keep having this disconnect." 😑
"Effective communication between parents and teenagers requires listening with the intent to understand, not with the intent to respond." — Stephen R. Covey

Nurturing Human Connection in the Digital Age 🌟
As parents, our role extends far beyond providing for our children's physical needs.
It's about fostering genuine human connections that no device or screen can replicate.
Especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, where many kids missed out on traditional schooling, it's crucial to prioritize teaching them the value of interpersonal relationships.
In today's technology-driven world, it's easy for children to get lost in screens and virtual worlds, but we mustn't let them forget the joy of face-to-face interaction.
Setting boundaries, like having designated phone-free times or meals together without distractions, can help cultivate this essential skill.
Let's empower our children to embrace the beauty of real-life connections, to go out and play, to engage in meaningful conversations, and to cherish moments spent with loved ones.

Together, let's navigate the delicate balance between technology and human interaction, ensuring our children grow into emotionally intelligent individuals equipped for the complexities of the modern world.

P0rn is reshaping how men socialize.
But society says it’s no big deal.
2.5 million people every 60 seconds worldwide.
That’s how many tune into adult content.
And most of the users are men.
The numbers keep climbing every single day.
Over 80 studies link p0rn to:
→ Loneliness
→ Depression
→ Negative body image
This is why I advocate against it.
Because someone has to:
→ Keep reminding its negative effects
→ Keep spreading the message
→ Keep supporting men
A $97 billion industry.
Where people as young as 13 get addicted.
At the end of the day, the least we can do is spread the message.
I’m trying my best.
Are you?

Stop letting overthinking hold you back from action.
The longer you stay in your head?
The further you drift from real progress.
Set aside:
• The need for perfect plans
• The pressure to finish everything at once
• Worries about the "right" moment
Focus instead on:
• Taking a single, small step
• Building momentum with each action
• Celebrating small wins
Simple formula:
-Start small. Focus on progress, not perfection.
The 5-Minute Reset method is designed for moments like this. It’s a practical approach to breaking free from procrastination—there is no pressure to finish, just to begin.
Your next action matters more than overthinking your options.
That’s why I teach ADHD professionals one simple method to turn hesitation into action.

What happens when you ask 270 teachers about classroom life?
Since Covid-19 hit, I've mostly been tucked away in my tiny home office, typing and Zooming the days away. It's practical and suits my life as a mom to 4-year-old twins perfectly, but I sometimes find myself missing the personal connection of face-to-face meetings with clients, where I can truly gauge how best to assist them.
That's why I was thrilled when Caroline Chisholm School accepted our standing invitation for me to personally onboard them to eQuoo. It was a fantastic opportunity to give the teachers and tutors a behind-the-scenes look at what their students would be engaging with.
I’ve become quite the seasoned speaker now— Pete Trainor probably still laughs when he recalls me nervously pacing behind the stage at the Giant Health Conference, sweaty and terrified. But learning that 270 teachers would be attending my session? That was humbling, yet incredibly exciting. I was about to connect with a school deeply committed to combating the youth mental health crisis—a school that didn’t just invest in eQuoo but ensured every teacher understood its importance and purpose.
Stepping into a school is stepping into a special space—a crucible of learning, safety, challenge, and social dynamics at every turn. It’s humanity in its purest form, showcasing both the highs and sometimes the lows. Even the best schools have students grappling with depression and anxiety. And teachers—they’re a remarkable bunch, dedicating their lives to equipping young minds with the skills to thrive in a tough world, despite often being taken for granted. My mom’s pep talk that morning really set the tone: "You’ll be fine. Teachers just want their kids to succeed."
And with that, one of my favorite sessions ever began. It was interactive, engaging, challenging, and filled with enthusiasm. Introducing a mental health app that doubles as a mobile game might not appeal to the old-fashioned, but recognizing a solution that meets students where they're most engaged is crucial.
A huge thank you to Cheryl Glover, Lisa West, Porsha McTaggart and Ben Musgrove for your warm welcome, and to all the teachers for their wonderful feedback and deep commitment to supporting their students.
