Reading through this article was truly harrowing. In times when funding resources are stretched thin, it's crucial for us to collectively prioritise the well-being of every child, especially those who are in the most vulnerable situations and require additional support to flourish. As the CEO of a grassroots charity dedicated to supporting families in our local community, I witness first hand the transformative power of transparency, accountability, and strong governance that align with the charity's mission, vision, and core values. These elements not only bring about incredible social value but also ensure that our efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of those we aim to support. However, as we delve into the broader context, it becomes evident that somewhere along the line, something is amiss. The current state of care for vulnerable children demands urgent attention and systematic change. We need to come together to advocate for policies and practices that put the needs and well-being of these children at the forefront. What steps can we take as a community, as organisations, and as individuals to address this pressing issue? It's time for collaborative efforts, innovative solutions, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child in care receives the stability and support they deserve to thrive. Let's work towards a future where no child is left behind, overlooked, or underserved. #ChildWelfare #community #home #enrichments #extramile #suppprt #VulnerableChildren #FundingStruggles #CommunitySupport #TransparencyMatters #CharityWork #SocialValue #Advocacy #ChildrenInNeed #SystemicChange

I'm proud of the work we're doing at Zorya Foundation. I started Zorya with the goal of keeping more women in the healthcare workforce. Access to childcare is a social determinant, and improving that access with cash childcare grants is how we've chosen to reach our goal. Amanda W., our advocacy and research analyst, has been collaborating with Emma Nelson to analyze our impact across applicants and grantees. All of our applicants are employed in the healthcare workforce, and more than 80% have degrees, but: 45% experience food insecurity 40% report experiencing burnout 40% face transportation insecurity 41% are single parents We need to do more to support women in the healthcare workforce. Thank you to our huge community of donors for helping us do our part. Most of our donations are between $25 - $50, but every dollar donated from individuals goes directly to moms in need, and every dollar matters. Jaime Bland DNP, RN-BC Lisa B. Nora Cox Mandira Singh

💰 #FundingOpportunity #ChildWelfare #Kinship Hello everyone, I, along with 3 others from around Canada, are part of the advisory for this Impact Challenge in #Canada by a Family Philanthropic Foundation, Sonor Foundation. Sonor Foundation delivers funds through impact challenges, and the next 3 years of funding will be based on this Impact Challenge. Does your organization work with kin communities engaged with the child institutionalization system, systemically known as the Child Welfare system? Do you have a program idea that would enable young people in the system to connect with kin to build strong and empowering relationships? Kinship caregivers are the least supported caregiver population with little resources compared to adoptive parents, foster parents, etc. This area is an important gap that impacts young people. Put your idea forward for a chance to be chosen to recieve funding; this is multi-year funding that can span 3 years. Deadline is March 8th. Good luck!
