The latest New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing (NJCCN) Workforce Supply report reveals critical insights into New Jersey's nursing sector. 👩⚕️ 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 → 6% of RNs → 4% of LPNs → 3% of APNs plan to retire within the next two years, outpacing the supply of new graduates. 🚀 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 25% of APNs hold licenses in neighboring states, where modernized legislation offers full-practice authority. This trend risks a talent drain as APNs might move to states with more progressive practice environments. 🔄 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 → 46% for LPNs → 26% for RNs → 24% for APNs signify a robust demand for nursing professionals in New Jersey. Mearly one million Registered Nurses (RNs) are expected to retire by 2030, and they aren’t the only ones exiting the workforce. According to the 2022 National Nursing Workforce Study by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and The National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers, around 800,000 RNs, approximately 20% of the workforce, plan to leave nursing by 2027.
