For people with Parkinson’s, freezing of gait can make even short walks feel overwhelming. Parkinson’s affects the brain’s ability to coordinate automatic movements, such as walking. However, many people with Parkinson’s retain the ability to perform goal-directed movements when prompted. StrydAR Glasses project a visual cue into the wearer’s field of vision which breaks freezing by prompting the brain to initiate movement, encouraging consistent strides and reducing shuffling. The benefits include: 🟢 Reduced risk of falls and improved safety. 🟢 Increased confidence in movement, making activities like walking more enjoyable. 🟢 Empowers individuals to regain independence and mobility. Send us a message if you’d like to learn more about the benefits of Parkinson’s Walking Glasses. #Parkinsons #ParkinsonsWalkingGlasses #ParkinsonsSupport #MobilityAid #VisualCueing

There's been some chatter about eBike head injuries increasing. Obviously, eBikes becoming more popular means just about everything related to them is going to increase. That's because more people are using them than ever before, so all the bad consequences potentially associated with eBikes will increase overall, as will all the good. But with a growing number of families turning to eBikes as an alternative to a second family vehicle, there is genuinely, I think, a need to educate people on safety. These are people who may not have done much cycling, whether for commutes or errands or pleasure. They also may have grown up in a different time when ideas around safety were not as developed as they are today. So here's a little PSA: Wear a damn helmet. Make your kids wear helmets. And that goes for all electric and non-electric bikes, scooters, and everything else in this realm of personal transportation. Wear a damn helmet. #emobility #electrifyeverything #electricvehicles

✅ *Addressing Pelvic Instability through Exercise* Pelvic instability, also known as pelvic dysfunction or pelvic obliquity, requires a comprehensive approach to address the underlying issues. Exercise plays a crucial role in stabilizing and strengthening the pelvic region. Consider the following exercises to help improve pelvic stability: - Pelvic Floor Strengthening: Engage your pelvic floor muscles by contracting and releasing them, as if stopping the flow of urine. - Hip and Gluteal Strengthening: Perform exercises like squats, lunges, and deadlifts to strengthen your glutes and support pelvic stability. - Core Strengthening: Engage in exercises like leg raises, bicycle crunches, and Russian twists to strengthen your core muscles and improve pelvic stability. - Pelvic Mobility Exercises: Try exercises like the pelvic tilt, bridge, and clamshell to improve pelvic mobility and stability. - Pelvic Clock Exercise: Imagine a clock face on your pelvis and move your pelvis in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction to improve pelvic mobility and stability. Remember to consult with a healthcare professional or physical therapist to determine the most appropriate exercises for your individual case of pelvic instability. They can help you develop a personalized exercise program to address your specific needs and promote optimal pelvic health. FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! Check out this MRI image comparing the upper legs of a 40-year-old triathlete, a 74-year-old sedentary man, and a 70-year-old triathlete. The dark area around the bone represents muscle, while the white is fat. Notice how both the 40-year-old and 70-year-old athletes have similar muscle mass, while the sedentary man clearly does not. Research shows that an 80-year-old who lifts weights is often stronger than a 30-year-old who doesn’t. The takeaway here? Use it or lose it. Exercise can be the key to living a vibrant life well into your later years, or facing dependence and poor health. Make time for it—it’s your ticket to a quality life. #HealthyAging #UseItOrLoseIt #StayActive #StrengthAtAnyAge #FitnessForLife #Longevity #ExerciseMatters #AgeStrong #QualityOfLife #ActiveLifestyle #FitAtAnyAge #StrongAt70 #TriathleteLife

Today is World Bicycle Day. This allows us to talk about one of our favorite topics - helmets. If you're out riding, please remember to wear your helmet. It's more than just a fancy bike accoutrement. Here's the scoop: 🚲 According to research by the National Institutes of Health, helmet use reduces the chances of a head injury by 48%, serious head injury by 60%, traumatic brain injury by 53%, face injury by 23%, and the total number of killed or seriously injured cyclists by 34%. 🚲 Pediatric non-helmeted bikers have a 3-times higher risk of serious head injury compared to helmeted bikers. Helmet use at this age can reduce risk of head injury by up to 83%. 🚲 Bicycle-related head injuries and deaths have decreased in states that have enacted bicycle helmet laws. Check your local bike shop to see what they have in stock.
