Imagine seeing physical improvements, and then suddenly, nothing changes. The situation can quickly lead to a "what’s the point?" or "why bother?" mindset. I've been there. I remember feeling just like you. I wanted to smash my scale against the wall (it probably would've been a more effective strategy for me) Spending sleepless nights brainstorming adding more intensity to my workouts. All it did was diminish my motivation. The problem with the common advice of cutting more calories, exercising more, and trying to be as perfect as possible is that it doesn't address the real issue. What if the solution is not to push harder but to send a different signal to your body? There are many ways to do that, but some of my favorites include: - Increasing calories back to maintenance for two straight days - Adding an extra rest day or two - Increasing calories back to maintenance for a week or two - Taking a deload or recovery week for training - Adding more stress reducing, low impact activities like more walks and stretching - Getting some extra sleep if possible The very last resort when we work with our 1:1 coaching clients is to reduce calories. Our approach in the Health Is Wealth program is to look beyond the surface and adapt strategies that fit your unique situation. We emphasize sustainability and personal well-being, ensuring that their goal is achieved without the unnecessary stress or burnout. None of this matters without consistency and feeling great through the process. That's why we recommend food choices based on their brain chemistry, which we gather from their personality assessment. Having a plan based on the way they are wired allows them to feel more like themselves, experience less stress, and maintain a more stable mood.. all of which lead to being more consistent and getting better results. These are the steps that I took when I finally realized that my approach to breaking through plateaus was problematic. And these are the steps that we take for our 1:1 clients when we work with them in our signature coaching program. I’ll be happy when…. If I can just get through X, I’ll relax and enjoy life…. Does that sound familiar? We work so hard all our lives to be happy. We think we’ll be happy when we reach a certain level in our career or business, or we buy that dream home, or we achieve financial freedom. We always think of happiness as being attached to some future outcome. It’s ironic, because this causes us an enormous amount of stress and anxiety. And it means that we are not happy now! Shirzad Chamine, bestselling author, expert mental fitness coach and the Founder of Positive Intelligence, says, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 “𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯” 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦.”. But do you know how to do this? Do you know how to tap into happiness now, in this moment? Most of us don’t! Your mind can be your worst enemy. It sabotages your wellbeing, performance, and relationships. All your negative emotions and feelings of stress are the result of your self-sabotage. Yet by increasing our self-awareness, and building our mental fitness, it is possible to make our mind work for us rather than against us. Research with 500,000 participants has shown that Positive Intelligence (PQ) is the best predictor of how happy you are and how well you perform in relation to your potential. I have been through the PQ program myself and found it life-changing! PQ strengthens the part of your brain that serves you and quiets the part that sabotages you, so that you handle life’s challenges with a more positive mindset, and less stress. PQ is one of the science-backed frameworks which will be included in the 16-week 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 launching in August, alongside powerful performance coaching techniques and health and wellbeing strategies to enable you to achieve a new level of vitality and high performance across all areas of life. I am proud to be collaborating with Tony Martin, accredited and highly experienced PQ coach and executive performance coach to deliver the Program. So, if you want to build your mental fitness, don’t miss this opportunity to embark on a journey of transformation, supported by expert coaches, and a group of like-minded professionals. My 6 AM Club I bought into Robin Sharma’s 5 AM Club many years ago and have since integrated his teachings with my experience in coaching sports and business leaders. I know and many successful athletes and business leaders have told me that with consistent practice, this is when the magic happens. “Own Your Morning, Elevate Your Life.” — Robin Sharma Why Start Your Day with a Power Hour? Quiet, peaceful, uninterrupted: The early morning is for YOU. No distractions. Time to focus: A dedicated space to nurture your physical, emotional, and mental health. Intentional living: Set goals, reflect, and energize your day. Part 1: Meditation + Visualization (20 Minutes) 1. Meditate for 10 minutes to clear your mind. 2. Visualize your goals for the day ahead, seeing yourself achieving them with clarity. “The quieter you become, the more you can hear.” — Ram Dass Part 2: Yawn and Stretch (20-30 Minutes) 1. Shake off the morning fog with physical activity. 2. WAKE UP your body with exercises like calisthenics or weight training to get your energy flowing. “The body achieves what the mind believes.” — Anonymous Part 3: Unlearn to Learn 1. Read books or listen to podcasts that expand your knowledge and inspire growth. 2. Embrace the concept of unlearning old habits to make room for new ideas and perspectives. “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” — Dr. Seuss Why It Works 1. Boosts Productivity: Sets clear intentions and goals for the day. 2. Mind-Body Balance: Aligns your physical and mental energy. 3. Sense of Achievement: Waking up early gives you a head start on your day. “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.” — Jim Rohn Pro Tips for Success 1. Listen to Your Body: Adjust your Power Hour to suit your needs (6 AM or even 7 AM). 2. Stay Consistent: Even when it’s hard, remind yourself of your WHY. 3. Reward Yourself: A creamy cup of chai tea as a treat after your workout. “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” — Robert Collier Final Thought "Rise early. The only thing keeping you from falling back to sleep is your own willpower. “How you start your day is how you live your day. How you live your day is how you live your life.” — Louise Hay Now, embrace the power of the 6 AM Club.

Okay, this might be a long one , most of you know that I began in the fitness industry over 25 years ago, I quickly learned that there was so much more to helping people that just getting them to move their body, so I delved into the world of nutrition ……and then this opened up the division between those people that could follow a plan and those that often got in their own way( most of us ) So, I started studying the mind and people’s behaviour with NLP, life coaching and performance coaching I then recognised that it was behaviour change, and mindset that was the biggest biggest determination in people's success. Now when I mean success, I mean, the people that actually started to feel better and didn't keep self sabotaging and get stuck in their own cycles, or paralysed with their own excuses For a while I lost a little bit of my passion for the industry because there were so many people out there sharing so much conflicting and damaging information about weight loss and having to eat certain things to you know, get your body how you wanted it. But I have had a big light bulb moment in the last couple of years and I didn't know how to express it, that's actually strictly not true but i was told over and over by mentors that ' weight loss' sells ...the thing is though …. Why are we not bothered about our health?🤯 Imagine if we could avoid medications and disease if we started to LISTEN to our body and PREVENT disease ??🙏🏻 I mean surely health has got to be the biggest driver in looking after our body…..and if we don’t take care of our thoughts and our emotions then that will have an impact on how our body behaves🙌 You know, you can have whatever size body you want, but if it's not happy on the inside then you will be leading towards disease. When we don’t get enough sleep - our immune system is compromised When we don’t manage our stress , our nervous system is out of balance and our body will respond by increasing our resting heart rate, When we are in a constant state of chaos and overwhelm our heart is quite literally under stress, and that puts us at risk of injury, sickened and long term fatigue Maybe you have have been guilty of this in the past, I know I have I’ve cared more about what my body looks like than how it performs and what it is trying to tell me But honestly, the last couple of years I've really honed in on my mind, thoughts and my behaviours and also tracking things like my sleep, what my nervous system is doing, how my body is dealing with stress because all of those little pieces you know can determine what is going on on the inside. If you want Better quality sleep To have more energy throughout the day Manage your emotions better. Simplify your day Discover a way of eating that supports health and longevity We need to chat Your health is priceless, and you deserve to feel your best. So, let's make it happen, together! Prevention or Cure? Which camp are you in ?

4 Steps to Create a Dominating Mindset Just as physical strength improves with regular exercise, mental toughness thrives on daily practices. If you're keen on enhancing your mental resilience, start by adopting these four habits. Habit 1: Embrace Discomfort Our mental toughness is truly put to the test when faced with unexpected challenges in life. Yet, the real Urban Athletes among us don't wait for challenges to come; they seek them out proactively. They cultivate the habit of embracing difficulty, constantly pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones. To embody this mindset, start your day with an early, rigorous run or workout. During training, push your body to its absolute limit, and then find the strength to push a little further. Always choose the path you perceive as most challenging—it's the path that will lead to growth every single time. Habit 2: Fucking Commit to Something Commitment is one of the cornerstones of mental toughness. One of the best ways to help you stay committed to something is to pick a goal, write it down, and double down by being accountable to someone. A recent study found that when people wrote out what they were committing themselves to and then regularly updated their friends or family, they were 50% more likely to accomplish that goal than those who didn't write it down. So next time you see that post about a 10k / Half Marathon, Obstacle Course event or indeed any physical challenge sign up because when you get to the finish line the person looking in the mirror is going to so different to the person who originally signed up. Habit 3: Give Fear the Finger Everyone experiences fear, it’s a vital part of our survival instinct. In today's world, our fears are often triggered by everyday challenges rather than life-threatening situations. Research indicates that anticipation drives fear, leading us to base decisions on "what ifs" rather than facts. However, dwelling on these scenarios can hinder growth and limit potential. To combat this, experts recommend listing worst-case outcomes, prevention strategies, and contingency plans. Recognizing our ability to manage fear empowers us to confront challenges. Stepping out of our comfort zones, despite uncertainties, can lead to significant personal growth. Each step forward is a leap towards overcoming fear and reaching our full potential. Habit 4: Make Time for Your Wellness NOW, So You Don't Have to Make Time for Your Illness Later A strong body builds a strong mind. Regular exercise is a proven way to reduce stress and anxiety, enhance mental clarity, and boost cognitive function. How? Physical activity elevates serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine levels in the brain – essential chemicals for mood regulation. This can aid in combating depression, increasing resilience, and navigating life's bullshit.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥: 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 5𝐌'𝐬 In today's fast-paced world, focus is the key to success, but what if the secret to sustaining that focus lies in controlling just five aspects of your life? The "5M" framework—Mouth, Mind, Mood, Manner, and Money—offers a simple yet profound approach to mastering focus and leading a balanced, productive life. 1. 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡: Speak Less, Listen More 🎙️ The words we speak hold immense power. Learning to control what you say, and more importantly, when to stay silent, can enhance focus and prevent unnecessary distractions. Communication is crucial, but over-communication can lead to confusion and loss of direction. By controlling your mouth, you allow yourself and others around you to focus on what truly matters. 2. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝: Train Your Thoughts 🧠 Focus starts in the mind. Training your mind to stay centered on your goals, even amidst distractions, is vital. This involves practicing mindfulness, meditation, or even simple mental exercises to maintain clarity. A cluttered mind leads to scattered focus, but a disciplined mind unlocks extraordinary potential. 3. 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐝: Master Emotional Intelligence 😌 Emotions can either fuel your focus or derail it entirely. Understanding and controlling your mood—whether you're feeling stressed, excited, or overwhelmed—can keep you on track. Emotional intelligence allows you to stay calm under pressure and avoid emotional responses that can take you off course. Practice self-awareness and develop emotional resilience to maintain steady progress. 4. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫: Cultivate Professionalism and Kindness 🤝 How you present yourself and interact with others has a direct impact on your focus and productivity. Respectful, professional behavior creates a positive work environment, free from distractions and unnecessary conflicts. Politeness, punctuality, and consideration for others not only build relationships but also help you stay centered and focused on the task at hand. 5. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲: Manage Your Finances Wisely 💸 Financial stress is one of the biggest distractions in life. If you don't control your money, it will control you. Practicing financial discipline—saving, budgeting, and investing wisely—will free your mind from constant worry about finances, allowing you to focus more effectively on personal and professional goals. Incorporating the "5M" principles into your daily life is not just about self-control—it's about designing a lifestyle that supports focus. Whether you're looking to advance in your career or enhance your personal life, gaining control over these five areas can create the mental space and emotional balance needed to stay laser-focused on your goals. What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to staying focused? Let’s discuss in the comments! #Focus #SelfDiscipline #EmotionalIntelligence #MindsetMatters #FinancialFreedom #Productivity #Leadership #CareerDevelopment #Teamngage

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞? Surely if you have a goal you really want to achieve, you’ll be motivated non-stop until you hit it, right? Not necessarily ... See, usually when someone joins CJ Coaching it’s because they’ve tried a bunch of times to get lean and in shape, but always lost their motivation and never achieved their goal. They fall off the rails, go back to eating junk food, and then repeat the “I’ll start Monday” cycle. Inevitably this just goes on and on and they never get the physique they want. So how do you fix it and stay motivated to the end? Well, a lot comes down to your routine and structure. Which means doing three things: 1️⃣ Get enough rest and recovery. Loss of motivation is often actually just fatigue. That feeling of “Can’t be arsed”. You must get 7-8 hours of good sleep a night. 2️⃣ Organise your routine so you aren’t playing catch up. When life gets on top of you because you aren’t prepared, guess what’s going to give out first? Your motivation to follow a fitness routine. 3️⃣ Make sure you actually ENJOY what you’re doing. Torturing yourself with 6 bland chicken and veg meals a day and going for 5am fasted runs when you hate doing those things, will tank your motivation within a couple of weeks. If you want me to show you how to apply these three simple things in your life and watch yourself finally achieve the transformation you deserve… DM me “𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍” and we’ll get started

Self-awareness is the game-changer we all need. It's the secret sauce to understanding your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, setting you up for some serious personal growth. Here are three killer ways to boost your self-awareness: 1. Working with a Coach or Mentor In my rugby days I had a few coaches most of which were the senior players Paul Williams who could spot my blind spots from a mile away—like the time I kept flying into unnecessary contact with very little regard for my body. His feedback? "Mate, use your brain, control your chimp, the more rucks you're in the less tries you're finishing for us." That external perspective was gold. A coach or mentor can: Offer Objective Insights: They see what you can’t. This helps you understand your strengths and those pesky weaknesses you might be ignoring. Set Goals and Keep You Accountable: Remember when I aimed to come back stronger after my neck injury? My coach set clear goals and didn’t let me slack off. Develop Skills:Their expertise can teach you strategies that you’d never figure out on your own. Regular sessions with a coach or mentor you trust is like having a personal GPS for your self-awareness journey. 2. Journaling During my neck recovery, I turned to journaling. It was a game-changer. Writing down my thoughts helped me make sense of the whirlwind in my head. Plus, it’s cheaper than therapy! Self-Reflection: Journaling lets you look back at your day and see what worked and what didn’t. It's like watching game footage to improve your performance. Emotional Processing: Getting your feelings down on paper helps you understand them better. It’s like tackling those emotions head-on. Track Progress: Over time, you can see how far you’ve come. It’s motivating to look back and see your growth. Make journaling a daily habit. Even a few lines a day can give you insights that you’d otherwise miss. 3. Practicing Mindfulness Meditation When I moved from the rugby field to the corporate world, I needed something to keep me grounded. Enter mindfulness meditation. It's like having a mental timeout to reset and refocus. Enhanced Focus: Mindfulness sharpens your concentration, keeping you present and aware. It’s like being in the zone during a crucial match. Emotional Regulation: It helps you stay calm under pressure—whether it’s a boardroom showdown or a tight game. Insightful Awareness: Mindfulness helps you understand your thought patterns, making you more self-aware. Start small with mindfulness meditation—just a few minutes a day. Trust me, it makes a world of difference. Conclusion We've all had that awkward, cringey manager or leader who's tough to like and even tougher to go the extra mile for. Don't be that leader. Increasing self-awareness isn’t just a one-time effort; it’s a continuous journey. Each of the methods brings something unique to the table, and combining them can lead to serious personal growth. So, pick the ones that resonate with you and dive in.

Entrepreneurship is a wild ride, right? Between chasing ideas, managing teams, and facing down that never-ending to-do list, it's easy to get stuck on autopilot. But what if I told you there's a secret weapon that can boost your focus, creativity, and resilience? Enter mindfulness 🧘🏼♂️ It's not just about incense and airy chants (although, hey, no judgment there!). Mindfulness is about training your attention to be present in the moment, noticing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Think of it as mental fitness for business! For busy entrepreneurs, mindfulness translates to sharper decision-making, calmer leadership, and the ability to navigate those inevitable setbacks with grace. Here's a quick and easy strategy to get you started: The 5-Minute Mindful Break ⏰ ➡ Set a timer for 5 minutes. Find a quiet spot (or at least a corner of your overflowing inbox!). ➡ Close your eyes (if comfortable) and take a few slow, deep breaths. Feel your body settle with each exhale. ➡ Notice your thoughts without getting caught up in them. Are you feeling stressed? Excited? Just acknowledge it and let it go. ➡ Shift your attention to your senses. What can you hear? Smell? Feel? Ground yourself in the present moment. ➡ When the timer goes off, gently bring your focus back to the task at hand, feeling refreshed and recharged. Ready to unlock the power of mindfulness in your business? Drop a comment below 👇🏼 and tell me your biggest business challenge right now. Let's chat about how mindfulness can help you crush it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi!
