The Everlasting Content Battle: Quality vs. Quantity 😖 [Think Pareto + answer 2 questions]. 👉 20% of your content produces 80% of your results — Pareto’s 80/20 rule has certainly been my experience over the years. So let’s ask (and answer) two questions: 👉#1. Is it about value over volume (quality over quantity)? Yes and no. 👉#2. Is there anything wrong with writing fewer articles? No — often less is more. More doesn’t necessarily mean better. We all know the online pandemic of redundant/poor content. If you want your readers to be hungry for your creations — instead of overeating them — create unique content that matters. Make it so compelling, unique and/or well-researched that your readers cannot wait to be notified of your new post. Still, if you’re serious about your content strategy/journey, you may need to produce a big number of words, especially before you know what works and focus on that. Thoughts? My content is ranking on the first page without a single backlink. How did I do it? 1. I focused on quality of my content. 2. Trying to put my message across in an elegant and helpful manner 3. Did not care about the keywords. They naturally found their place while I was writing. It is that simple. SS is in the comments section

I'm wrapping up Ann Handley's "Everybody Writes 2.0", and I’m happy to say that this is a book I plan to keep handy as a reference and inspiration for my own writing and editing. https://lnkd.in/geCJEex3 What I appreciated most: 1. The Practical Recommendations: It's full of advice and guidelines. I particularly enjoyed one recommendation on how to get in the habit of writing every day. Handley suggests keeping a simple journal where you write down something you did, saw, and heard that day. Part of writing successfully is noticing, and this exercise is helping me notice more, especially moments of humor and irony. 2. A Balanced Perspective: It doesn't claim to have the ultimate marketing or writing solution, which is refreshingly honest. The last marketing book I read fell into that exact trap. 3. “Total Annarchy” without the wait. I got a daily dose of my favorite newsletter without needing to wait two weeks for an email to show up. What other marketing books have others appreciated lately? Suggestions welcome! 📚

Copywriting hack #2 which can instantly boost your conversion. Every online business has 2 essential parts - traffic and conversion. As we've already discussed hack #1 in our previous post, today we'll discuss hack #2 which can help you instantly boost your conversion. 📌 Hack #2: Transform features into emotions Don't just list what your product does. Paint a picture of how it makes your customers feel. For example, suppose you're selling a mattress that has memory foam. So, Don't write: "Our mattress has memory foam". Instead, write: "Sleep like a baby and wake up with a smile." Highlight the emotional benefits of a restful night rather than just the technical features. That's it for today. In our next post we'll discuss hack #3. See you in the next post. P.S. - Share this post to help other online writers as well. The Best Way To Start Copywriting From Scratch (step-by-step road map that'll shave off months of your learning curve)✍ This is EXACTLY how I would go about it if I was to start copywriting over again: 1) 📖 Start by reading these five books (take notes!): - The Boron Letters (Gary Halbert) - Building A Story Brand (Donald Miller) - The Ultimate Sales Letter (Dan Kennedy) - Ca$hvertising (Drew Eric Whitman) - Email Marketing That Doesn't Suck (Bobby Klinck) 2) 💻 Go to AWAI.com, buy one of their beginner courses, and finish it. 3) 📧 Now that you've got a rudimentary understanding of direct response and content writing, go to AWAI's "Meet the Experts" page, start following some of the profiles on LinkedIn and Twitter, and sign up for their email list (important! Create a brand new email for yourself that is dedicated to copywriting only). As you continue to learn and grow, sign up for more great email lists. 4) 🤔 Analyze the expert's content (their social media posts, emails, and sales pages) and break it down using the notes taken from the course and the five books above. Create your own templates based on their work. 5) 📜 The final step of the first learning phase is to start producing your own copy by writing emails, posts, and sales pages for whatever brand/product you want to work with. A tip is to rewrite emails in your inbox using a different formula (e.g., if they used DIC, you use PAS/AIDA, and so on). Edit your samples over, and over, and over. Then, edit some more and put them in your portfolio. Finally, write something everyday. Follow this road map for at least 3-4 months. By the time you're done, you'll be ready to start outreaching and doing some work. Good luck!
