Internationalizing climate capabilities is crucial for addressing the global nature of climate change- climate issues transcend national borders and enhancing collaboration across nations allows for more effective mitigation, adaptation, and innovation strategies. Today across the pond in New Zealand our sister country is actively engaged in climate action with key leaders and actors in the climate landscape where Peter Castellas moderates the  Innovation Session- Connecting Capital with Climate Solutions. New Zelanad highlights: 🚞 New Zealand has committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 under the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Act 2019. 🚞 The New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ ETS) is the country’s main tool for reducing emissions. It covers all sectors of the economy, including forestry, energy, industrial processes, and waste. 🚞 80% of its electricity from renewable sources, primarily from hydro, geothermal, and wind energy. The government has set a target to reach 100% renewable electricity generation by 2030.
