Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican tradition that honors deceased loved ones. Celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, it blends indigenous customs with Catholic influences, particularly the Feast of All Saints and All Souls' Day. Families create ofrendas (altars) adorned with photos, favorite foods, and mementos of the departed, inviting their spirits to return for a day and celebrate their life with loved ones. To celebrate, you can: 1. Create an ofrenda: Set up a small altar at home with items that represent your loved ones. 2. Decorate with marigolds: These vibrant flowers symbolize the fragility of life and help guide spirits. 3. Cook traditional foods: Prepare pan de muerto (bread of the dead) and other favorite dishes of the departed. 4. Share stories: Gather with family and friends to share memories and stories of those who have passed. 5. Participate in community events: Attend local celebrations, parades, or workshops to learn more about the traditions. By honoring and remembering those who have died, Día de los Muertos fosters a sense of connection and celebration of life! #diadelosmuertos #dayofthedead #tfcstrong #youarenotalone

Starting yesterday and continuing today, Día de los Muertos is a time to remember and celebrate loved ones who’ve passed. In many cultures, it's not about mourning. It’s about cherishing memories, stories, and legacies. At BeyondWill, we’re reminded of why we do what we do: to help families protect the legacies of those they love, to ensure that stories, assets, and dreams are passed down exactly as intended. This tradition reminds us that leaving a legacy isn’t just about wealth; it’s about love and connection. So, today, light a candle, share a story, and honor the lives that shaped your own. And if you’re thinking about how to keep your own legacy alive, we’re here to help.

Celebrating a Century of Life: A Legacy of Connection Reaching 100 years is an incredible milestone in itself. But reaching 100 years surrounded by those whose lives you've touched? That's the true measure of a life well-lived. #LifeGoals Western society often sends the message that aging diminishes our value, pushing our eldest members to the margins. In doing so, we overlook the vast history, wisdom, and perspective our elders carry. By setting aside the eldest among us, we lose a vision of the life we all hope to create. This is a powerful reminder of why #RepresentationMatters—because, as the saying goes, "You can’t be what you can’t see." Imagine if we each had frequent interactions with centenarians. Perhaps the daily pressures of modern life would feel a bit lighter, and we’d focus more on the life we want MOST rather than the life we want NOW. Ask yourself: “Will this matter when I’m 100?” As a new mom, this question feels especially poignant. It keeps the main thing ... the MAIN THING. It challenges me to build a life that endures through the decades—a life that values deep, genuine connections. I hope to leave a legacy that truly matters. #Legacy #Centenarians #AgingWithPurpose #LifelongConnections #Inspiration #MeaningfulLife #Family #Wisdom #MomsJourney #GrowthMindset
This past weekend we celebrated my Great Aunt’s 100th birthday. She is the second one in our family to reach the milestone with her mom living to 103. It was a blessing to have my son, the youngest member of the family, meet her. Seeing all my family celebrate her reminded me of the blue zones and how family is essential to a long life. The phrase ‘family is everything’ hits even more now as a father.

Today’s Daily DEI Moment is on cultural day Día de Muertos. El Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is not just the continuation of Halloween, despite some of the holidays’ similarities. Taking place on November 1st and November 2nd every year, the Day of the Dead is a special time of year when, according to some cultures, loved ones emerge from the afterlife to visit and reunite with their families on Earth. It’s celebrated primarily in Mexico, though other countries in Central America, Brazil, Spain and Mexican-American communities throughout. Día de los Muertos is a joyous occasion when families honor their loved ones by preparing an ofrenda, or altar, for their past beloved family members. Ofrendas are often decorated with yellow and orange marigolds (a popular Day of the Dead flower), photos of family members, foods, drinks and other personal items. Gratitude can be a powerful tool for improving your well-being, and your mental health matters and helps train your brain to notice and appreciate the little things in life and, in doing so, shifts your life experience tremendously!!!!
We become virtuous by the practice of virtue, responsible by the practice of responsibility, generous by the practice of generosity, compassionate by the practice of compassion. And we become abundant by giving thanks for our blessings. Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🧡
