To my mentors, friends, and community: Today, I’m reaching out with a humble request—not for myself, but for my kids at Life-Line Colorado. These young people are walking the same difficult path I once did, and now more than ever, they need our support. https://lnkd.in/gF76xfDs The science is clear: early intervention and community-based programs dramatically reduce youth recidivism. Research shows that young people who receive mentorship, education, and support are far less likely to return to criminal activity. In fact, according to studies by the U.S. Department of Justice, these types of interventions can lower recidivism rates by up to 40%. Life-Line Colorado is doing exactly that—offering a lifeline to youth at risk of being caught in this cycle. But this mission takes resources. I’m asking for your help. Whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, your action can make a difference. You helped me, and now together, we can help them. With deep gratitude, Christian Andrade #Gratitude #YouthRecidivism #CommunitySupport #LifeLineColorado #Mentorship #GivingBack

📣 CALLING ALL CHANGE MAKERS 📣 William Ury's book Possible introduces us to the third side. Our community 🌍 needs you 👉 to be the third side. TLP’s mission is safeguarding childhoods through fostering family connections. The best predictor of whether children fare well during and following parental separation is the duration and degree of conflict. Conflict is natural and inevitable, but combat is optional. 47% of Kansas families with children struggled to pay their regular household expenses last week, family divide only causes further financial strain on families. The families who need our services the most can’t afford them, and as a result have no true access to justice and are unable to reach their highest potential, resulting in the cycle of intergenerational trauma. The Layne Project needs your help to transform the way families in transition deal with conflict, and expand our reach to all families in need. Presently, we are acting under our fiscal sponsor, Kansas Alliance for Nonprofits to give us the ability to apply for funding, and to accept donations in order to offer individual grants and scholarships to families in need. Kansas Alliance for Non-Profits (KAN) is a 501(c)(3). However, The Layne Project must transform to a 501(c)(3) to achieve our mission. In order for us to continue to serve our communities families and expand our reach this must happen with urgency. Any contribution, direction or insight would be greatly appreciated. Donations are increadibly helpful, but equally as helpful would be time and knowledge and willingness to volunteer to be on our board. Donations can be made on our website, www.thelayneproject.com. If you want to help or can share knowledge that will help us move swiftly in this direction, please message me. #possible #williamury #thirdside #thelayneproject #safeguardingchildhoods #coparenting

Help Us Continue Saving Lives! The passage of Proposition 1 in California is a grave concern for The Priority Center. Our vital and life-saving Adults In-Home Crisis Program is being dismantled, leaving some of the most dependent members of our community vulnerable. The diversion of 30% of mental health program funding to state programs, amounting to a $2.2 million loss in funding to The Priority Center, is beyond devastating. We at The Priority Center are deeply worried about the individuals who rely on us most. Without our support, at-risk children and families are left without the life-saving assistance they desperately need. Stories like Chris's highlight the profound impact of our services: “In my darkest hour, The Priority Center's Adult In-Home Crisis Program was my beacon of light. They didn't just save me; they gave me a second chance at life.” - Chris, 30. In response, we are launching our Emergency Fund for Hope campaign. This is a critical effort to continue changing lives and offering second chances, just like we did for Chris. We are committed to fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves and giving a voice to communities that are too often overlooked. Your donation can make a world of difference. Please consider contributing and being a part of this important campaign. Together, we can ensure hope for tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/gaY84VPV #Prop1 #ThePriorityCenter #Donate

I’ll be in silence, limiting communication to work-related emails. My focus will be on creating content and training. During this time, I won’t engage in conversations with FBS staff, clients, family, or anyone else. Why? To empathise with the experience of adults in domestic abuse situations—having a voice but being unable to use it. Two days is a mere fraction of what they endure daily. Previous challenges showed Day 1 as tolerable, but Day 2 brought feelings of isolation and frustration, where I almost vanished from others’ awareness. I’m fundraising to sustain support for families in similar situations, offering crucial therapy for those deeply affected. Join me in making a meaningful change. In the U.S., 1 in 6 children faces abuse or neglect annually, a stark reminder of the widespread challenges affecting our youth. For these children, the effects extend beyond immediate harm, often leading to long-term issues like mental health struggles, trust issues, and social difficulties. At RUOVA, we stand with nonprofits dedicated to supporting these vulnerable children. Our mission is to provide these organizations with the grant assistance they need to expand their reach and impact. If your nonprofit is committed to helping children affected by abuse, let’s partner to secure the funding necessary to make a difference. Together, we can build a safer future for every child. #nonprofit #nonprofitlife #nonprofitorganization #grantwriting #grantwritingfornonprofits

California’s California Department of Health Care Services recent investment to help people with substance use disorders (SUD) is a great example of state innovation in this area. To learn how states can use public funds to support evidence-based SUD treatment — including MOUD and MAT — check out this CHCS/The Pew Charitable Trusts report outlining 10 financing principles to guide states in strengthening robust #SUD treatment and recovery services. https://bit.ly/46dlgYu
DHCS awarded more than $10 million to 25 DHCS-licensed nonprofit, residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facilities throughout the state. This funding continues California's support of community organizations on the ground, doing the day-to-day work of caring for and supporting people struggling with SUDs. I am once again reaching out to my network to talk about a topic no one wants to talk about. Suicide is a very real issue in the world. In the United States alone we saw nearly 50,000 suicides in 2022, a 2.6% increase from 2021. Those numbers represent actual people in our communities. 50,000 mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, best friends, and more lost. What those numbers don't show are the people who attempted but didn't pass away. It also doesn't show those who were left behind when a loved one made that decision. Many lives are impacted when someone makes that choice. Every year I contribute to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 's "Out of Darkness Walk" here in San Francisco. We raise money to provide money for research and services to help address this issue. This issue is very important to me as I believe our mental health is important and that every life deserves to be saved. Every year I ask my network to donate to this cause to help us save lives. If it is in your heart to give, please do so. Any amount helps. Please click my official fundraising page below and donate if you can. Together, we can all save lives. If you are suffering and need someone to talk to, please dial 988 in the United States. For other nations, here is a list of international number -> https://lnkd.in/dEkeBpFp #savinglives #suicideprevention
