The past 4+ years at Tracer have been quite a journey. I'll never forget that Sonic QBR meeting at Vayner with Jeff where I was first introduced to the platform. As soon as I saw what the team was building, I knew I would be part of it. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work with amazing people, take on big challenges and drive growth. The CS, TS and OS teams in particular are some of the sharpest folks I've ever worked with. L and the technology teams are so talented. The executive team has maintained great agility as change was a constant. Plus, it helps that our clients are such great, engaging people. The raises were taxing but very successful to the tune of $30MM+. I left Tracer a little while back to try something different. To start something on my own and see where it leads. I've been an "intrapreneur" most of my career, leading change in large enterprises. Now, it's some focus on the "entrepreneur" side. My friend Joe Heron had a fantastic post on entrepreneurship, https://bit.ly/48HVDl7. He talked about how starting a business is like surfing. There are lots of folks on the beach watching. Lots of folks saying "man, I'd like to surf" or "if he can surf, I'm sure I can". Yet, only a few people get in the water and start paddling. Well, I've jumped in and am paddling away. I've been working with folks quietly to see if this could/should be real. The response from those I've connected with has been awesome and so inspiring. Thus, time to Cortez this thing and burn the boats. Data can be a tricky subject, especially with the emphasis on AI over the past couple of years. The future won't work as well with AI if your data house isn't in order first. AI magnifies garbage in / garbage out. The opportunity I see is to swim upstream in data strategy and execution. That is, to help folks make key decisions, organize teams, introduce process and other steps before getting to the technology, which I've also aligned.
