🔶Normalizing Behavioral Health🔶 I believe your Behavioral Health is fundamental to your Health, in fact it is the very core of whole person health. Mind, Body, Spirit... Deepak Chopra MD (official) refers to it as the "bodymind." Our minds and body are continuously connected, and we now know that many of the ailments that affect us physically have emotional drivers.   💯  In short, we all have a need for Behavioral Health care. 💛 And that's a good thing because we have all been working to normalize behavior health in this Valley, and we have dramatically increased the care available. In Will Cook's words, found in this article (link in the comments), "Rocky Mountain States Lead in Suicide Rates. This Town Fights Back" “We truly believe everybody should be investing in their overall behavioral health,” says Cook. “We want everyone to have a dentist and everyone to have a primary care provider. In our eyes, there is nothing different [about having a mental health provider] whatsoever.” 🙏 We can lead the change as a community. As a community we can be successful in ending the mental health crisis in the mountains. As a community we are normalizing behavioral health. And, if you have not seen it yet, check out Bodie Miller's, Paradise Paradox, and all of the work many are doing in the mountains to change the narrative. ⛷ It takes a Mtn Village. ⛷ Let's go! -Chris #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #paradiseparadox #mountainlife #behavioralheath Vail Health, Vail Resorts, Peak Ski Company, Podium Pictures, LLC

Love these insights, Chris Lindley. For my family Zealous Schools was the mental health therapy that has been the MOST helpful to my kid on the spectrum. We finally found a safe place in the our Paradise Paradox of a Valley and unfortunately that was ripped away from him last week. To say his core mental health has been shattered is an understatement! I love what Vail Health EAGLE VALLEY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH is doing to combat this and thank you for the continue perseverance with this work. I would love to see education brought more into mental health especially for our vulnerable middle schoolers! For a dad where public schools seem to have failed, I think it’s a third leg of the stool that we can prop a little more! Keep on keeping on!
