As Eagle County Manager, Jeff Shroll has dedicated his career to solving community problems. Yet his battle with depression proved a greater challenge. Despite trying traditional treatments like therapy and medication, finding lasting relief remained elusive. Through his involvement as an Eagle Valley Behavioral Health Board member, Jeff learned about a different treatment approach - Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive, FDA-approved option for individuals with treatment-resistant depression. After starting it, the cloud began to lift, bringing prolonged happiness for the first time in years. Thanks to generous donors, we expanded endocrinology services in 2023 with additional medical experts and a renovated space at the Buck Creek Medical Building in Avon. The endocrinology team now includes a full-time endocrinologist, Dr. Rebecca Adochio (pictured below); two full-time physician assistants, a registered nurse, and a registered dietitian. The endocrine team is better equipped to continue delivering exceptional care in their enhanced setting. Launched in 2023 through generous donor support, Shaw at Home is an in-home, community-based palliative care program developed as an extension of Vail Health Shaw Cancer Center to support cancer patients and their families.
