Something for the weekend? In this latest episode Jeremy and I have a very "wordy" conversation, where I ask lost of "what does that mean?" questions! What you will gain from listening then, is an understanding of research terminology. And this means that it will make research papers much easier to read, understand and interpret for use in your own practice. After all, if we don't implement what we learn (or stop doing what we learn doesn't work) then what is the purpose of research? This conversation also highlights that you really don't need to be an academic to get started. Finally, it is a real live example of making contact with someone who has published research you are interested in, and inviting a conversation. It stands to reason that, if you're interested in something that another human has been interested enough to spend weeks, months and years researching, the chances are, you will have plenty of common ground to explore! Enjoy the listen! #pracademic #coaching #research #evidencebasedpractice #podcast

Imagine you're meeting a friend for coffee. After initial small talk, you look at them seriously and ask, "What would be a good outcome for our time together?" Your friend stares blankly, wondering why you're adding formality to a casual chat. We don’t usually make formal agreements when we have coffee chats; yet, it's absolutely required in a coaching conversation. This makes it a key difference between coaching and a regular conversation. Coaching is intentional and super focused. In fact, the very act of agreeing on a conversation goal is an essential part of the coaching process. In this podcast episode, I’ll explain a lot more how to become really good at this kind of agreement. Btw, it’s also usually the hardest thing for any aspiring coach to learn. Curious? Have a listen. It’s just 19 minutes long. 🎧 #intellicoach #thecoachingleaderpodcast #leadershipskills
